It's been all Barca since the resumption, and they win a corner that Ferran swings over to the far post. Rayo manage to clear but Barca are starting to control the game.

Two minutes in and Barca have a chance, Joao Cancelo shooting with his left from outside the box and seeing his curling effort just skim over the bar.

Rayo get the second half under way. No changes as yet.

Unai Lopez is a bit of a lucky omen - he's been on the winning side in five of the last six games when he has scored.

And that's the break - a deserved lead for Rayo thanks to that superb goal from Unai Lopez. Barca are struggling for fluency, but Lamine Yamal is their stand-out player so far.

De Frutos slides a pass over from the left inside the six yard box towards Camello sliding in but Balde clears from under his own crossbar.

Yamal is found on the right by a superb chipped pass from Martinez but the 16-year-old cannot control it, the ball getting under his feet and the Rayo keeper collects it to clear.

Yamal clips in a cross from the right towards Lewandowski that the Polish striker can't reach with a despairing dive.

Rayo Vallecano 0-0 Barcelona

Isi Parazon looks groggy after a clash just outside the Barca area, the game has stopped for at least two minutes.

There's pressure from Rayo in a frenetic spell with Unai Lopez unleashing a shot from an angle that crashes into Christensen and rebounds to safety.

Pedri is into the book for a follow through on Unai Lopez - clumsy rather than malicious, but this referee takes the "by the book" approach and shows him the yellow card.

Twinkletoes from Lamine Yamal, who glides past and between three defenders into the box before shooting straight at the keeper.

That's the best piece of skill we've seen so far.

Espino finds space on the left, and for the moment Rayo look to have a chance biut Espino does not spot De Frutos in space, instead losing the ball and giving Barca the chance to clear.

It's yet to catch fire, even after Barca get two corners in fairly quick succession that are comfortably dealt with by the Rayo defence.

Nice work from Christensen, edging ahead of De Frutos into his own area before controlling and clearing without having to worry Pena too much.

Ferran and Balliu tangle on the edge of the box, and Balliu is claiming a penalty despite being just outside the box.

The ref is not interested, and within seconds Pedri is down at the other end and curling a shot straight at Dimitrievski.

First sniff of a chance for Barca as Robert Lewandowski picks up a loose ball in the area, but Dimitrievski drops low to thwart him.

A minute later, De Jong loses the ball on the edge of his area but Oscar Valentin's shot lacks power and Pena makes an easy save.

Isi Palazon tries again from an angle and Pena spills the low, fizzing effort but at the second attempt he grabs the ball just ahead of the onrushing De Frutos.

Good start from the hosts.

Rayo very much on the front foot for the opening two minutes, Barca have not been out of their half as yet. It's Pena's first la Liga start and he's having to be on his toes as Isi Palazon shoots over his bar from a long way out.
