A big chunk of Ibrox think that's in, but John Lundstram's strike from the edge of the box is just wide.
So, so close.

Rangers 0-0 Aris Limassol
It all opens up on the break for Aris, but left-back Caju makes a total mess of his cutback and Rangers survive.
Nervy stuff from the hosts.

Aris Limassol have not come here to try and contain Rangers.
When they attack, they flood forward. The counter-attack is very much on.
Rangers 0-0 Aris Limassol
Another misplaced pass from Jose Cifuentes isn't followed by positive energy from the home crowd.

The Aris manager Aleksey Shpilevsky is very animated on the side-lines.
He's pacing up and down his technical area with his eyes firmly on every kick of the ball. He's vocal too, shouting plenty of instructions to his players.
Rangers 0-0 Aris Limassol
Half chance for John Souttar.
A corner takes a nick then falls on to the boot of the centre-back, who hits it over.
Rangers 0-0 Aris Limassol
Aris keeper Vana Alves takes a chance with a clearance and Danilo closes him down.
Luckily for the goalie, he gets away with it.

Cifuentes just looks a yard off it.
I've seen it before. In a European game you've got to get lifted to the tempo as soon as possible, if not immediately.
Rangers 0-0 Aris Limassol
Aris are starting to threaten.
They look to burst between the centre-back pairing of Ben Davies and John Souttar, but Jack Butland gets there.
Rangers 0-0 Aris Limassol
Jose Cifuentes has had a bit of a tough start.

Sighs of relief among the home fans as Jack Butland turned out that stinging Caju shot.
Aris have taken about 10 minutes to make themselves known as an attacking force, but that strike was a clear warning.

That is an incredible strike.
Jack Butland just got enough on that to ease it past the far post.
Rangers 0-0 Aris Limassol
What a dig!
Aris left-back Caju smashes one to the far corner from about 20 yards, but he's denied by Jack Butland at full stretch.

Though not able to celebrate an early goal after that Abdallah Sima offside incident, the home crowd are certainly encouraged by Rangers' intent early on.
Jose Cifuentes had the whole of the main stand telling him to release the ball more quickly moments ago and it's clear Aris Limassol have not come here to let Rangers spray the ball about unopposed.
Rangers 0-0 Aris Limassol
Sam Lammers makes amends by bending in a beauty of a ball from the right, but it's knocked behind for a corner.
The set piece is eventually smothered by the goalie.

It looked like a good oportunity for Sam Lammers.
It was not a great cross from Borna Barisic but it fell nicely on to Lammers' left foot. You would expect him to do better.
Rangers 0-0 Aris Limassol
A ball from the left lands perfectly for Sam Lammers, but he kicks the Govan air instead of the ball.
It eventually breaks for John Lundstram, whose strike is straight at the keeper.

Of course it's a blow missing Connor Goldson. That said, the experience of John Souttar and Ben Davies means it's not a massive deal.
I'm surprised Sam Lammers starts ahead of Tom Lawrence. Maybe Philippe Clement feels Lawrence needs a bit of a rest, but I'd have thought a fully fit Lawrence starts.

Ibrox is full to the rafters for this one. It's noisy too.
How big a part will the home crowd play in inspiring their team as Rangers look for a win to guarantee European football into 2024?
Rangers 0-0 Aris Limassol
The flag goes up anyway, but Abdallah Sima forces Aris keeper Vana Alves into a fine near-post save inside the first 20 seconds.
