  1. Goodnight!published at 22:29 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2023

    FT: Ross County 3-0 Motherwell

Okay, that's that. A great night for County, another sore night for Motherwell.

How much longer can their poor run of form continue? Stuart Kettlewell needs to turn it around as soon as possible. And he won't have Calum Butcher or Dan Casey for the next wee while - they both went off hurt, the latter seriously.

In Dingwall, Derek Adams has got a big reaction from his players. They look a lot safer than some of their relegation rivals do but there is a long way to go.

    Until next time.

  2. Adams praises players and performancepublished at 22:23 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2023

    FT: Ross County 3-0 Motherwell

Ross County manager Derek Adams tells BBC Sport Scotland: "I was delighted for the players, because we started quickly - as we have done in all three games. Murray got his header - he was brilliant tonight, ran the line well. Him and White caused them problems, Dhanda off the front too.

"I've been conscious to look at anything else, I can't change the past. I can only look at the present and I said that to the players. I don't care who you are, what you've done, it's from today onwards that matters to me.

"Tonight, what Dhanda did was get a goal and an assist. He needs that. He's got undoubted talent and off the ball he was very good too. Randall and Allardice were excellent too, defensively we were sound. The only downside was Will getting sent off late in the game."

"You always look at your former team and former players, but I'm only concerned with Ross County. That's who I have to look after. Tonight was about beating Motherwell, and let's be honest - they wouldn't care about us."

  3. 'My sorest night in football' - Kettlewellpublished at 22:11 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2023

    FT: Ross County 3-0 Motherwell

Stuart Kettlewell has spoken to BBC Sport Scotland: "Disappointed doesn't begin to sum it up. It's probably my sorest night in football. The level of performance was miles away from how we started the game and throughout the 90 minutes.

"Ross County were better all over the pitch, man for man, every facet of the game. That disappointed me because I said coming in, I didn't see a gulf between the teams. But tonight there was.

"I don't feel we got levels from individuals or the collective. Quite simply, the travelling support got nowhere near what they were due. The biggest frustration for me is, this level of consistency. We made changes and found ourselves chasing it again.

"There's only so many times a team come back. That's been the story for us for a period of time. This is by far the worst performance in what has been a terrible run for us. It was miles worse than anything we've seen until this point. Quite simply, they're coming up short.

"We can do nothing but apologise. That's nowhere near good enough, I'm the first one to tell you. It's nowhere near the levels we've hit. We all must take responsibility for it. Ultimately the buck stops with me."

  4. Stuart Kettlewell couldn't watch his side succumb to another losspublished at 21:57 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2023

    FT: Ross County 3-0 Motherwell

A damning stat for Stuart Kettlewell - Motherwell have failed to win in their last 12 games in the Scottish Premiership.

Their last joint longest winless streak was from 8 November 2020 to 23 January 2021.

That run saw Steven Robinson lose his job, with Graham Alexander coming in to replace him.

  5. County go eighth, leapfrogging Motherwellpublished at 21:49 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2023

    FT: Ross County 3-0 Motherwell

It's not been a bad introduction for Derek Adams. Three games, two wins, and now they sit a point off the top six. It's been a good bounce for the returning gaffer.

They are also yet to concede a goal since Adams' return - 318 minutes and three clean sheets.

  6. FULL-TIME Ross County 3-0 Motherwellpublished at 21:39 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2023

From bad to worse for Motherwell. 12 games without a win, and a 3-0 tonking to boot.

County were at their free-flowing best. Derek Adams said he wanted to get their forward players on the ball and that's exactly what they did. Yan Dhanda scored one and set up another, Simon Murray was a handful all night.

It was a more than deserved 3-0 victory. That said, Motherwell were unlucky not to score. Georgie Gent did his utmost after his introduction at half-time, but it wasn't enough.

Thoughts must also go to Motherwell defender Dan Casey, who picked up a nasty injury in the dying seconds of the game.

  7. Bad injury for Caseypublished at 95 mins

    Ross County 3-0 Motherwell

Oh dear. Dan Casey is in a lot of pain. His leg turned really awkwardly as he tried to tackle the County attacker.

Hopefully not as bad as it looks, but it looks bad.

  8. RED CARD Will Nightingale (Ross County)published at 94 mins

    Ross County 3-0 Motherwell

I'm currently trying to figure out why Will Nightingale has been ordered off by David Dickinson. He looks as bemused as I do.

He was booked for that foul on Oli Shaw earlier, but I don't know why he's been booked again. Does he catch Blair Spittal? Either way, he's off.

  9. Postpublished at 91 mins

    Ross County 3-0 Motherwell

Is that in the box?! Will Nightingale catches Oli Shaw and it's right on the line...

It's just a free-kick, and George Gent whips it inches over the bar.

    All too little, too late.

    Ross County 3-0 Motherwell

Big shout for a handball against Dan Casey, and it does look like he tried to catch that County cross... but it's not given, or pulled back.

Ah, we've seen it on the replay and it's outside the box. Casey is one lucky boy.

  12. Close!published at 77 mins

    Ross County 3-0 Motherwell

That should have been the fourth.

The resulting corner sees Will Nightingale somehow miss his free header from a yard out. The ball drops to Jack Baldwin and he stabs wide from a similar distance.

This is as poor a Motherwell performance as I've seen all seen, and maybe as poor defensively as I've seen from any side.

  13. Off the line!published at 75 mins

    Ross County 3-0 Motherwell

Almost a goal back for Motherwell! Georgie Gent cuts the ball back to Mika Beireth who takes a fine touch and fires a powerful shot at goal - but Jack Baldwin is back on the line to clear away. That's superb from the County captain.

They go up the other end of the pitch and Simon Murray toe pokes at goal, with Liam Kelly sprawling to his right to tip past the post.

  14. Postpublished at 72 mins

    Ross County 3-0 Motherwell

James Brown gets up to take the free-kick and instead of crossing, pulls it back to Victor Loturi.

The midfielder curls it into the side netting with his first touch! Almost an instant impact from the sub.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 70 mins

    Ross County 3-0 Motherwell

Georgie Gent scythes down James Brown on the edge of the box. That wasn't the best challenge and Brown has taken a sore one.

Victor Loturi is comes on, but he replaces Connor Randall.

  16. Postpublished at 64 mins

    Ross County 3-0 Motherwell

Almost a comeback/consolation goal from Motherwell. A cross is floated to the back post and Georgie Gent powers his header at goal, but Ross Laidlaw makes a good save.

Moments later, Gent fires a cross into the box and Mika Biereth's flick goes inches wide of the post. It is not their night.

  17. Postpublished at 61 mins

    Ross County 3-0 Motherwell

Theo Bair is the latest Motherwell player hooked. Jon Obika replaces him.

'Go and score a hat-trick, big man' was the message, I imagine.

  18. goal

GOAL Ross County 3-0 Motherwellpublished at 57 mins

    Ben Purrington

Ben Purrington thought he'd made it three but the flag has gone up quickly.

Yan Dhanda whips in an absolute beauty of a cross. Jordan White heads on, Liam Kelly gets down to make a good save, but Purrington sticks in the rebound.

Hang on... the replay shows Purrington is clearly onside. There's a delay...

  19. Postpublished at 51 mins

    Ross County 2-0 Motherwell

Dan Casey has just controlled the ball about 40 yards out and tried a Hollywood effort.

It's nearer the corner flag. Stuart Kettlewell isn't happy and it's not hard to understand why.

  20. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Ross County 2-0 Motherwell

There are the three subs. Shane Blaney, Bevis Mugabi, and Conor Wilkinson stay in the sheds.

Another stat for you, Well fans... Motherwell have failed to score a first-half goal in 13 of their 16 games- no team has failed to do so more often in the Scottish Premiership this season.
