Summary

  • Iwata, Mikey Johnston & Oh start as Kyogo drops to Celtic bench

  • Hib' Youan & Miller come in for Vente & Whittaker

  • Hibs 18 points and four places behind leaders Celtic

  1. FULL-TIME Celtic 4-1 Hibernianpublished at 21:42 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

How did Celtic not added a fifth at the end there? Tomoki Iwata did so well to give himself sight of goal with some nifty footwork, but he fires into the side-netting.

It doesn't add more gloss to a comfortable home win, inspired by Oh Hyeon-Gyu.

The South Korean's brace, alongside Matt O'Riley's header and Luis Palma's penalty secure three points and there could have been a few more goals.

Hibs, who stay fifth, had a few chances and scored a consolation through Christian Doidge, but some of their defending was just lamentable.

  2. FULL-TIME Aberdeen 0-1 Kilmarnockpublished at 21:40 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

A first away win of the season for Kilmarnock and just their third in 26 league games on the road since promotion.

It was a moment fit to win any match from David Watson.

Aberdeen have now won just two of their last 12 games in all competitions, and only one at home all season.

The pressure on manager Barry Robson will only increase.

  3. Postpublished at 21:37 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    Celtic 4-1 Hibernian

Celtic have the opportunity to bury another, but Kyogo can't keep his close-range effort down.

The hosts are getting a late second wind after coasting for a while.

  4. goal

GOAL Aberdeen 0-1 Kilmarnockpublished at 21:35 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    David Watson

What a brilliant goal from the teenager!

A cross comes in from the left, he touches it away from his marker and absolutely slams it into the far corner.

    Sensational stuff.

  5. Postpublished at 21:34 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    Aberdeen 0-0 Kilmarnock

That could be tackle of the season by Kilmarnock's Stuart Findlay.

Bojan Miovski is played in behind, only for the centre-back to sprint back and slide in perfectly to steal the ball.

    A huge moment.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:32 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    Hearts 0-1 Rangers

Kenneth Vargas with a huge chance to level.

The ball is rolled into his path about 12 yards from goal, he catches it well, but Jack Butland stretches to his left to make a quite superb stop.

  7. CLOSE!published at 21:31 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    Aberdeen 0-0 Kilmarnock

What a chance for Kilmarnock to win it.

A corner is swung in and Stuart Findlay has a free header, but he guides it past the post.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:30 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    Celtic 4-1 Hibernian

What a goal that would've been.

Luis Palma arrows his free-kick goalward from 30 yards and it looks to be heading into the top corner, but David Marshall races across goal to beat it away.

  9. CLOSE!published at 21:29 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    Hearts 0-1 Rangers

    This game should be dead.

John Lundstram's shot is saved by Zander Clark, but he parries it into the path of Ridvan Yilmaz, who slashes it over.

Big chance for Rangers to double their lead.

  10. Postpublished at 21:28 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    Aberdeen 0-0 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock substitute Matty Kennedy gets to the byline before Kelle Ross smothers the ball at his feet.

Will we get a winner at Pittodrie?

  11. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:28 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    St Johnstone 0-0 St Mirren

Chances for both sides. The two subs combine for St Mirren when Toyosi Olusanya slides the ball across goal but Mikael Mandron can only hit the post when it looked easier to score.

St Johnstone go up the other end and Chris Kane is in behind the defence but he rolls his shot well wide when one-on-one.

  12. 'Aberdeen show late signs of life'published at 21:27 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    Aberdeen 0-0 Kilmarnock

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland

Aberdeen have sparked into life with the introduction of James McGarry and Shayden Morris.

But time is not on their side and Kilmarnock will still feel they can take something positive back to Ayrshire

  13. CLOSE!published at 21:25 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    Hearts 0-1 Rangers

That's a huge chance for Connor Goldson.

The Rangers defender loses his man but he doesn't connect well enough with his header and it deflects wide.

  14. Postpublished at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    Aberdeen 0-0 Kilmarnock

Aberdeen's Jamie McGrath goes down after tussling with Rory McKenzie in the box.

Referee Matthew MacDermid waves play on and VAR does not intervene after a background check.

  15. Postpublished at 21:22 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    St Johnstone 0-0 St Mirren

From the resulting corner, Marcus Fraser peels off his defender and plants his header a yard or so wide. Another good chance for St Mirren that goes begging. They've really let St Johnstone off the hook.

  16. Postpublished at 21:22 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    St Johnstone 0-0 St Mirren

Almost a goal from a very unlikely source. Charles Dunne receives the ball 25 yards from goal and there's only one thought in his mind.

The St Mirren defender takes one touch and curls the ball at goal, but Dimitar Mitov reads it all the way and tips over.

  17. 'Hibs consolation but game over long ago'published at 21:21 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    Celtic 4-1 Hibernian

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

Hibernian are clearly still trying to impact this game and have the consolation of that goal but it's a lost cause. Errors have cost them on top of a strong Celtic display.

Celtic have had a hunger for goals and the introduction of Kyogo was telling. Brendan Rodgers wants his team to keep the intensity up throughout.

It's been a hard night for Nick Montgomery. His side have been in form and they have had moments but the concession of goals has simply been too weak.

  18. Postpublished at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    Aberdeen 0-0 Kilmarnock

Liam Donnelly joins Brad Lyons in limping off for Killie. Liam Polworth is on.

Nothing much else going on at Pittodrie I'm afraid.

  19. CLOSE!published at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    Hearts 0-1 Rangers

John Lundstram pops a ball into Ridvan Yilmaz on the left of the box, who flashes the ball wide of the far post.

Was it a cross or a shot? No idea. But it was close.

  20. Postpublished at 21:16 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2023

    Hearts 0-1 Rangers

Kyosuke Tagawa's eyes light up as he reaches a ball in the box, but he catches more of the Gorgie air than the ball.

Half a chance for the Hearts forward.
