    The home side have won a couple of throws in advanced positions so far and have a long-throw specialist in Adam Lund who is causing some real issues for Walsall.

    The second of which leads to a corner but it's safely dealt with.

    It must be down to contact on the goalkeeper, but you look at that and think that's very soft.

    I don't think there is [contact], George Willis gets away with one there.

    That's an early let-off, it might ease the nerves for Alfreton Town.

    Tom Knowles won a corner for the visitors that was whipped over inswinging from the right.

    It floats over everyone, deceives the goalkeeper and finds the far top corner!

    But the referee blows a foul on the keeper and Alfreton survive!

    Jake Day will hope to land a blow for Alfreton this evening.

    The 31-year-old was an amateur boxer in his early years before he switched to football in his 20s.

    "The FA Cup is all about dreaming. We're a part-time team. But we're trying not to get ahead of ourselves.

    "Walsall is a big, big game and it will be very difficult. They'll want to reach the third round as much as we do," he told BBC Sport.

    Alfreton's cup run began back in September with a trip to the coast as they knocked out Cleethorpes, of the Northern Premier League Division One East, 4-2.

    Then came opposition from even further down the pyramid as AFC Emley, from West Yorkshire, were beaten 1-0 in Derbyshire.

    Macclesfield, nowadays in the Northern Premier, were then seen off 3-1 at home to reach the main draw.

    The first round proper saw another kind draw with Worthing, from the National League South, making the trip north. Two goals in the final quarter saw Alfreton through.

    They now try to reach the third round proper for the first time in their history.

    It's the type of night where, with the best will in the world, most observers will be hoping for an upset.

    It's a very slippery one for Walsall, who have gone six games without a win in League Two and sit 19th in the table.

    They played one of the lowest-ranked sides in the Cup in round one, away at Sheppy United of the Isthmian League South East Division.

    Despite conceding the opening goal, Walsall came through the tie to win 4-1.

    We're in mid-Derbyshire, just off the M1 between Nottingham and Chesterfield, with the Peak District and the picturesque towns of Matlock and Bakewell a few miles north-west.

    Alfreton play in National League North, in the sixth tier of English football, and have already come through four rounds to get here.

    The temperatures may have risen a few degrees since Saturday but that still didn't stop this rearranged tie coming under threat again.

    Prolonged and heavy rain has replaced frost for the past two days and there were a few worried faces again when a 15:00 GMT pitch inspection was called.

    Thankfully the pitch has been deemed playable but don't be surprised to see a little good-to-soft in places.

    This was supposed to be have been Saturday's lunchtime's offering but the cold proved too much and the game was postponed just minutes before kick-off.

    So we're back three days later to see who can make it through to the third round proper and a tie away at Southampton.

    It's Alfreton Town, of the National League North, against League Two Walsall.
