  1. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:40 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Barnet 1-4 Newport

Newport have done an excellent job to get through what looked a very tricky replay on paper.

That three-goal blitz in the first 25 minutes did the damage and while Barnet grabbed one back through Harry Pritchard's hand, the Exiles always had that cushion before Seb Palmer-Houlden settled it.

The Welsh side will welcome National League Eastleigh to Rodney Parade in round three.

  2. 'He looked offside'published at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Scarborough 2-4 Forest Green

    Howard Nurse
At Flamingo Land Stadium for BBC Sport

Oh my! Scarborough can not believe that. Rovers break away to score a fourth but Matt Stevens looked well offside when he broke away to find the net.

  3. 'Forest Green's Stevens was never going to miss'published at 21:37 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Scarborough 2-4 Forest Green

    Laurie Martin
Forest Green media officer on BBC Radio Gloucestershire

    That should be game over.

It is great for Matt Stevens to get on the scoresheet.

That will be a big relief after six weeks or so out with injury.

He is never going to miss from a position like that.

  4. Postpublished at 21:37 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Walsall 1-0 Alfreton

Into stoppage time at the Bescot.

Can Alfreton find one last push to take the tie into extra-time?

  5. Forest Green goal 'a howler' for Scarboroughpublished at 21:35 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Scarborough 2-4 Forest Green

    David Ward
    BBC Radio York commentator

    What a shame!

Just as it was building up to a dramatic finish, I think Scarborough have been undone by a howler.

  6. goal

GOAL: Scarborough 2-4 Forest Greenpublished at 21:34 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Matt Stevens (90 mins)

Forest Green have won this tie for the umpteenth time!!!

Substitute Matt Stevens gets it after being set up by Teddy Jenks - although home fans think he should have been flagged for offside. Their complaints don't matter though as the goal stands.

  7. 'Tense last few minutes'published at 21:33 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Scarborough 2-3 Forest Green

    Laurie Martin
Forest Green media officer on BBC Radio Gloucestershire

Luca Colville seemed to have a lot of time in the box.

There was a lot of space and once he had found it, it was very difficult for him to miss when one-on-one.

He has made the last few minutes tense.

  8. 'There is a chance left in this game'published at 21:31 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Scarborough 2-3 Forest Green

    Darren Foreman
Former Scarborough striker on BBC Radio York

Great ball in by substitute Lewis Maloney for Scarborough.

Goalscorer Luca Colville took his time, picked his spot.

There is a chance left in this game still.

I think Forest Green were looking for offside.

What do we know? Still plenty of life in this one now!

Luca Colville is all alone in the box when he is found by Lewis Maloney and he makes it count from seven yards to halve the deficit.

  10. goal

GOAL: Port Vale 2-1 Stevenagepublished at 21:29 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Harvey White (81 mins)

Some late hope for Stevenage at Vale Park.

Substitute Harvey White runs from midfield and drives a shot in at the near post.

It was so comfortable for Vale but they have a job still to do now.

  11. Postpublished at 21:28 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Walsall 1-0 Alfreton

Alfreton still carry a threat at the Bescott.

Jordan Thewlis goes close once more for the visitors as he curls a shot just over the bar.

Can Walsall see this one out?

  12. goal

GOAL: Scarborough 1-3 Forest Greenpublished at 21:28 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Sean Robertson (83 mins)

Game over. For the second time in the FA Cup between this pair.

Charlie McCann releases Sean Robertson, who advances and beats Ryan Whitley for his first Forest Green goal.

  13. 'Alfreton sub Askew gives extra dimension'published at 21:27 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Walsall 1-0 Alfreton

    Darren Robinson
Former Derby coach on BBC Radio Derby

There will have been a knowing nod between the Walsall defensive line now that Alfreton forward Jake Askew has come on.

They will know that they have to be strong.

They know they have to compete because he is a big lad and he gives that extra dimension to the Alfreton attack.

  14. Postpublished at 21:26 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Scarborough 1-2 Forest Green

Into the last 10 minutes at the Flamingo Land Stadium.

Scarborough are going to have to dig deep to force extra-time in this tie.

  15. 'Scarborough penalty claim would go to VAR'published at 21:25 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Scarborough 1-2 Forest Green

    Laurie Martin
Forest Green media officer on BBC Radio Gloucestershire

We have just seen one of those penalty shouts that gets the VAR treatment at the top level.

The ball came in very quickly, it was difficult to see because of how quick it came in.

It could have hit Forest Green defender Jamie Robson anywhere.

  16. goal

GOAL: Crewe 2-4 Bristol Roverspublished at 21:22 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Aaron Rowe (73 mins)

    Hmm.

Crewe have managed to get a second quickly and now have just enough time to try and set up a tense finish.

Joe White finds Aaron Rowe in the area and he forces the ball over the line to give Crewe some hope now.

  17. goal

GOAL: Barnet 1-4 Newportpublished at 21:22 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Seb Palmer-Houlden (76 mins)

The answer is an emphatic no!

As Gary Hooper is introduced at one end, Seb Palmer-Houlden is set clear at the other and he confidently beats Laurie Walker.

The Exiles will be welcoming Eastleigh to Rodney Parade in the third round.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:22 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Barnet 1-3 Newport

A change for Barnet as much-travelled striker Gary Hooper is thrown on for Jordan Cropper.

Hooper has scored in the top six divisions of English football as well as in Scotland with Celtic, India, Australia, New Zealand, Cyprus and the UAE.

Can he save this tie for Barnet?

  19. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:21 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Walsall 1-0 Alfreton

Walsall denied by the post again!

Liam Gordon this time is so close to killing the tie for the hosts but the frame of the goal keeps the cup dream alive for Alfreton once again.

  20. 'A Walsall goal and this will be over'published at 21:18 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Walsall 1-0 Alfreton

    Sanny Rudravajhala
Reporting for 5 Live Sport at Bescot Stadium

The announcer has gone with ‘super Freddie Draper’ as the Lincoln loanee forward comes on for Walsall.

And with eight in 16 in League Two, it’s fair to say he’s been pretty super for the Saddlers since his arrival.

He is on for the effervescent Douglas James-Taylor.

A goal for the sub and this game will be over.
