    This game is definitely simmering.

Roberto De Zerbi was furious with referee Paul Tierney even before Facundo Buonanotte got his yellow card.

Then new Stoke boss Steve Schumacher was frustrated at Tierney denying his side an advantage when he gave them a foul on halfway.

The respective supporters have picked up on the tension. This could get lively in the second half.

Chesterfield are really putting Watford on the back foot. They're passing through the thirds. They're playing top class football and hunting in packs in midfield.

  5. Missed chances for Saintspublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Southampton 1-0 Walsall

    Michael Beardmore
    BBC Sport at St Mary's

Saints should be out of sight really but Sekou Mara is not having a day to remember.

Having blazed over a bit of a sitter from inside the six-yard box, the French forward then ignored a wide-open Ryan Fraser shortly after.

And Walsall are starting to come back into it - Tom Knowles and Isaac Hutchinson have both gone close to an equaliser for the Saddlers in the past five minutes.

  6. CLOSE!published at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Stoke 1-0 Brighton

Good work from Facundo Buonanotte, who spins in the box and stabs an effort towards the right post. It trickles just wide.

    Stoke 1-0 Brighton

    Good refereeing.

Facundo Buonanotte gets a free-kick for a shirt tug but he gestures for a yellow card for his offender and referee Paul Tierney won't have that.

It means Buonanotte gets a yellow card himself.

  14. Postpublished at 15:35 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Gillingham 0-1 Sheff Utd

Great reaction stop from Sheffield United keeper Wes Foderingham to keep out Oliver Hawkins' header - although it wouldn't have counted because of offside, not that the keeper knew that.
