Football is only a game, but it means so much to all of us.

It is why fans of Reading felt compelled to invade the pitch with anger and unhappiness about how their beloved club is being run.

But some things do matter more. It is why Bolton v Cheltenham was abandoned after a medical emergency in the crowd.

Thank you, as always, for your company this afternoon.

We return on Monday for live text commentary of Derby's home game with neighbours Burton Albion.

    Bottom of League One table

Fleetwood's late defeat at Cambridge keeps them bottom of League One. Carlisle were also beaten today, while the matches involving Reading and Cheltenham were unable to be completed.

As we posted earlier, regarding the abandonment at Reading, the EFL said it will "discuss the implications of this afternoon's events with the clubs involved".

    Top of League One table

Only a second home defeat of the season for leaders Portsmouth but the 3-0 loss to Leyton Orient has opened the door to the teams below, who all have games in hand.

Peterborough are now just a point behind following their win at Charlton as they move up to second.

Bolton drop to third after their match with Cheltenham was unfortunately abandoned because of a medical emergency in the crowd.

Derby play Burton on Monday and they will go second if they win by a margin of two goals or better.

It is as you were in positions five to eight as Oxford, Barnsley, Stevenage and Blackpool all picked up three points.

Northampton are ninth after their draw with Wigan, but realistically it is hard to imagine anyone outside the top eight making the play-offs.

  4. Sutton off the bottom but stay adrift in League Twopublished at 17:30 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

Sutton United climb off the bottom of League Two. Their draw with promotion-chasing Barrow takes them a point above Troy Deeney's Forest Green Rovers, who lost at Harrogate to extend their winless run to 11 matches.

But they are now six points adrift of safety after Salford City climbed above 22nd-placed Colchester by beating Crawley for a first win in 12 games.

Grimsby leapfrogged Doncaster into 19th after their sensational draw with Notts County and both sides are now nine points above the drop zone.

Newport were the only other side to win in the bottom 10 as they beat Doncaster to move into 17th.

  5. 'We understand people's frustrations'published at 17:26 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

    Reading A-A Port Vale

Reading manager Ruben Selles has been speaking to BBC Radio Berkshire following a pitch invasion by protesting supporters and subsequent abandonment of their League One match against Port Vale:

"I came here to play a football match and knew via social media some things were going on. We were ready to play for our fans.

"We understand people's frustrations, and I think they made their point about what they want for this club."

On whether he knew what would happen next, Selles added: "Hopefully there will be a replay and we can just come and play the game, but they (the EFL) haven't communicated anything yet."

  6. Hatters hold on to League Two top spotpublished at 17:24 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

    #bbcefl

Stockport hold on to top spot thanks to a hard-earned win over Walsall and stay two points clear of Wrexham, who continued their relentless momentum by edging past AFC Wimbledon for an 11th win in 15th matches.

Mansfield lost a little ground and drop to third after being pegged back in a tight draw at Morecambe.

Fourth-placed Barrow miss the chance to leap above the Stags into the automatic promotion places after they were held to a surprise draw at strugglers Sutton.

Crewe gained ground on both, closing within three points of the top three after their win over Swindon.

Notts County dropped points for the fifth time in seven games after their extraordinary 10-goal draw at Grimsby and remain sixth, while MK Dons climb into the play-off places, replacing AFC Wimbledon in seventh, after their win at Tranmere.

  8. Update from Boltonpublished at 17:18 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

    Bolton A-A Cheltenham

Bolton have published the following on their official website following the abandonment of their home game against Cheltenham earlier today:

"A supporter in the East Stand suffered a suspected cardiac arrest around 30 minutes into the game at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

"The man was treated by medical staff and paramedics at the scene, while the two teams were taken off the pitch.

"Following sustained attempts to revive the patient, he was taken to the first-aid room at the stadium and the match was abandoned shortly after 4pm [16:00 GMT].

"The supporter was subsequently taken to hospital and the thoughts of everyone at Bolton Wanderers are with him and his family.

"An update on the supporter’s condition will follow.

"Details regarding a new date and ticket refunds/arrangements for the fixture will be released in due course."

    • No doubt about the game of the day in League Two - at Blundell Park as it finished Grimsby 5-5 Notts County. David McGoldrick thought he won it for the Magpies, only for Harry Wood to pop up with the leveller deep into stoppage time.
    • League Two leaders Stockport beat Walsall 3-1 to remain at the summit. Wrexham go second after a 2-0 win over AFC Wimbledon, while Mansfield slip down to third after they were held 1-1 at Morecambe.
    • Courtney Baker-Richardson's goal was enough for Crewe to pick up a 2-1 win over Swindon.
    • At the other end of the table, it finished Sutton United 2-2 Barrow in what was Steve Morison’s first game in charge of Sutton. Harry Beautyman scored twice for the hosts.
    • And Troy Deeney's Forest Green Rovers lost 2-0 at home against Harrogate Town, meaning they are now bottom of the table.

GOAL: Cambridge 2-1 Fleetwoodpublished at 17:07 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

    Sullay Kaikai (90+1 mins)

Cambridge score in stoppage time! In a game that was delayed starting because of traffic around the stadium, Sullay Kaikai converts into the roof of the net to put the hosts in front.

Charlie Adam might have to wait a bit longer for his first point as Fleetwood boss.

    Stockport County 3-1 Walsall

They've been under the pump recently, but the Hatters have responded well with a hard-earned win over in-form Walsall.

Second half goals from Isaac Olaofe and Paddy Madden ultimately broke the Saddlers' resistance.

It ends Stockport's three-match winless 'drought' and keeps them two points clear at the top.

    Charlton 1-2 Peterborough

A fourth straight win on the road for Peterborough thanks to those two Ephron Mason-Clark goals.

That type of run has the whiff of automatic promotion about it.

Charlton remain without a win in any competition since 28 November - a real winter of discontent at The Valley.

  15. 'Walsall undone by set pieces'published at 17:00 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

    Stockport 3-1 Walsall

    Tom Heslop
Member of Walsall media team on BBC WM

I think the pressure in the second half from Stockport makes them deserving of the win.

Walsall have effectively been undone by two set pieces and a long range goal.

It's unfortunate for the away side.
