To call that a slow-burner would be an understatement...

Like a disappointing prize fight the first 86 minutes were largely forgettable but the frantic finale before the bell could yet shape the foot of the Championship table come May.

Jack Rudoni slotted Huddersfield ahead with just four minutes remaining but any hopes of a six-point lead in the relegation scrap were ended as Kenneth Paal diverted home an Ilias Chair cross five minutes into stoppage-time.

Thanks for your company this afternoon, we'll be back on Tuesday night for more high-octane action from the world's most unpredictable division.

    Not much, to be honest.

Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday are probably happier with that outcome than either QPR or Huddersfield, given the way the game ended.

With 17 games remaining the Hoops remain three points adrift of the Terriers, although with a slightly better goal difference.

Huddersfield host Sheffield Wednesday next Saturday while QPR play their first away game of the year, heading to Blackburn to try and haul Rovers towards the mire.

    FT: QPR 1-1 Huddersfield

QPR defender Steve Cook told Sky Sports:"I think in the end a point is better for us - at one point we were six points behind.

"These games are awful to play in. There was a lack of quality. I am hoping we can harness the positive at the end. We can't be heads down and disappointed we snatched a late draw.

"We have 17 games to save QPR in this league."

It seems as though it's [relegation] going to go right down to the wire. It seems that both managers are getting a tune out of their their team

If QPR can match that last 20 to the first 70 they'll be a form outfit. That's what consistency is about in this league.

Town came oh, so close to winning. It was full-bloodied and lots of commitment from both sides, but for the third consecutive match in Town's case, it's a 1-1 draw.

    FT: QPR 1-1 Huddersfield

QPR goalscorer Kenneth Paal told Sky Sports: "I think we deserved the draw. It says a lot about us (that we came back after conceding a late goal).

"We kept believing and fighting. We are disappointed we didn't get the win.

"We kept pressing and pressing after the goal. We will go again."

A draw is not great but there was commitment today and more adventurous play.

Sorba Thomas got a lot of balls into the box and there was better centre-forward play.

It wasn't awash with quality but it was an improvement.

    Phew.

    What a breathless finish.

Kenneth Paal popped up in stoppage time to divert Ilias Chair's cross into the net off Brodie Spencer.

Huddersfield were so close to opening up a six-point lead over the Hoops at the foot of the table through Jack Rudoni's close-range finish after a scramble on 86 minutes.

But Rangers woke up just in time.

After all that the Rs remain in the drop-zone and it's as you were...

That's nine 1-1s in 22 games for Darren Moore as Huddersfield boss. They have draw half of those games, but won just three of them.

That is a massive blow but Town didn't defend well enough there.

When balls are coming into your box and you're under pressure, you have got to win those first headers and get the ball clear, and they paid the price.

    WOW!

Ilias Chair whips in a superb cross from the right flank this time and the ball has flown in off the knee of defender Brodie Spencer with Kenneth Paal in close quarters.

A scruffy one but the Rs fans won't mind. How priceless could that be in the scrap at the bottom?

QPR are trying to win it now.

Why did they only wake up after going 1-0 down after 86 minutes?

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 90+2 mins

    QPR 0-1 Huddersfield

Brodie Spencer gets a yellow for dawdling over a throw-in. That's six for the game, QPR lead 4-2. It's not the numbers which matter, though...

Make that 4-3... Bojan Radulovic picks up a yellow on his first start too.

Town trying to slow it down to see it out.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 90 mins

    QPR 0-1 Huddersfield

Albert Adomah and Morgan Fox are thrown on by QPR with Sam Field and Jake Clarke-Salter withdrawn.

SEVEN added minutes to negotiate for Town.

QPR have come to life but too little, too late?

  15. CLOSE!published at 88 mins

    QPR 0-1 Huddersfield

    So close to a leveller.

Ilias Chair drives to the byline and fires a low cross into the middle where Tom Lees somehow diverts the ball over his own bar under immense pressure from Sinclair Armstrong.

A goal kick is awarded but that looked like brilliant defending.

That's what you need in these massive, massive games - a little bit of luck.

The shot from Radinio Balker fell straight to Jack Rudoni and he put it away. That is a big goal.

    Well, well, well...

Jack Colback goes into the book, QPR's fourth caution, and the subsequent set-piece is nodded back into the middle, scuffed on the volley by Radinio Balker but straight to Jack Rudoni to pass into the corner past the helpless Asmir Begovic.

Wild scenes behind that goal. There was a hint of offside from the free-kick but the Terriers fans won't mind.

All of a sudden they are six points clear of the relegation zone.
