FT: Queen's Park 0-0 Dundee United
Queen's Park caretaker head coach Paul Nuijten tells BBC Scotland: "I think it was a very good team performance.
"The players did exactly what we have asked of them and it was an amazing result for us.
"This is something we can build on. There were moments it was good, especially [Jack] Thomson stepping in at the back.
"We have spoken in the last weeks about the effort they have to put in and they showed that tonight.
"This is a good kickstart to move on. Tonight was based on hard work and the players know that."
FT: Queen's Park 0-0 Dundee United
Queen's Park midfielder Jack Thomson tells BBC Scotland: "I think we can take a lot from the result.
"It has been a really tough time, the manager leaving and all the disruption that goes with that.
"I think it is an important point but I think the character and the fight, the togetherness that we showed today was more important.
"I think there is a lot more to come from us. We were working hard for one another today.
"We have been in this position before coming off the back of a really strong performance.
"It is all good and well putting on strong performances but ultimately we need to start picking up points and that is the big focus for us."
What a game in Kirkcaldy and Rovers stay five points clear at the top of the Championship - but only just.
It looked like the Kirkcaldy side would ease to victory when they went 2-1 ahead after Ayr's Sean McGinty was sent off.
But they eventually needed a Lewis Vaughan hat-trick to rescue a point near the end.
It's all over at Hampden. Dundee United can't capitalise on Raith Rovers' looking likely to drop points.
At the other end, Queen's Park move within one point of Arbroath ahead of their game against Dunfermline Athletic tomorrow.
Lewis Vaughan
Lewis Vaughan completes his hat-trick - and just in time to save a point for Rovers.
Queen's Park 0-0 Dundee United
It's some very desperate defending from Queen's Park as they attempt to keep out United for the final two minutes - but they're succeeding for the moment.
Queen's Park 0-0 Dundee United
Five minutes added at Hampden...
Queen's Park 0-0 Dundee United
Dundee United have a corner.
Just two minutes left of the 90 to play.
Glen Middleton pings it into the box and Kevin Holt gets a head on it but it's just over the top of the crossbar.
Ahkeem Rose
Just when we thought the 10 men were wilting!
Striker Ahkeem Rose edges Ayr back in front.
Lewis Vaughan (pen)
The Championship leaders are back level!
Lewis Vaughan with his second of the evening, this time from the penalty spot.
Queen's Park 0-0 Dundee United
Dundee United have just under 10 minutes left to try and make something of this game.
Rovers are still trailing to Ayr and three points would be a huge boost to United in their effort to narrow the gap.

Wonder how many here at Hampden, and watching at home, are regretting not going Christmas shopping.
Seriously, this has been that bad...
Queen's Park 0-0 Dundee United
There's a pull back from United's Liam Grimshaw on substitute Cameron Bruce, who looked to be making a decent run towards the visitor's goal.
It's a tasty delivery to the back post from the resulting free-kick and Ruari Paton tried to get on the end of it, but he just can't direct it goalwards.
Raith Rovers 2-3 Ayr United
Queen's Park 0-0 Dundee United
Another two changes for Jim Goodwin's side.
Declan Glass and Chris Mochrie on for the visitors.
Tony Watt and Jordan Tillson are the two who make way.
Queen's Park 0-0 Dundee United
Dundee United did make a change and brought on Kai Fotheringham for Matthew Cudjoe, but the attacker has failed to make an impact so far.
It's actually the hosts who look the more likely to take something from this game at the moment.
Logan Chalmers
Wow!
Ayr's 10 men have come from behind to lead against the Championship leaders.
Logan Chalmers has been threatening and the former United forward eventually finds the net.
Queen's Park 0-0 Dundee United
It's a good save from Callum Ferrie to deny Dundee United the opener.
Louis Moult fires his shot at the Queen's Park goalkeeper from just a few yards out and Ferrie does really well to smother the shot.

A scrappy game in sheets of rain.
Far from a Friday night classic in the Championship.
