  1. Goal-shy Lions unleash attacking weaponrypublished at 19:11 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2023

    Livingston v St Johnstone (19:45)

David Martindale names a very attacking Livingston line-up as he searches for a first win in 11 matches.

The manager switches up his goalkeeper, with Shamal George preferred to Jack Hamilton. Captain Mikey Devlin returns from suspension, with fellow defender Michael Nottingham and forward Kurtis Guthrie also brought in following the loss at Celtic Park.

The injured Tom Parkes is sidelined, while Hamilton, Jamie Brandon and Luiyi de Lucas drop to the bench.

Guthrie is joined by Joel Nouble, Bruce Anderson and Andrew Shinnie in the attacking areas as Martindale seeks some much-needed incision.

Motherwell manager tells Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Sportsound: "We left just the back of nine. We had a bit of a team meeting and headed off to Aberdeen.

"If I'm being honest, at the risk of overdramatising it, the driver did incredibly well to get us there because the conditions were horrendous. Obviously we're trying to do things right.

"The communication with ourselves and Aberdeen was very, very good.

"If I'm being honest, common sense has prevailed on this one. On that note, we all knew what was coming her and it might been an earlier judgement call. It's been a hell of a long day for us.

"The biggest priority for me is the safety of supporters and everyone travelling to the game.

"I think it's the sensible thing to do. The last thing we want is supporters and members of staff risking life and limb to get to a game of football."

  4. Second game falls foul of weatherpublished at 19:03 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2023

    Aberdeen P-P Motherwell

Aberdeen's clash with Motherwell has also been called off due to travel disruption caused by Storm Gerrit.

“Whilst much of Pittodrie has been battered by significant rain and gale force winds, the stadium itself and the pitch have coped admirably well,” Aberdeen's chief executive Alan Burrows said.

“However, as roads became flooded and unpassable, and with rail services being cancelled north of Dundee, it was clear it was going to be a very difficult ask for many supporters of both clubs to safely get to Pittodrie.

“We remained in dialogue with all stakeholders and after putting our case across to the league, it was agreed between the two clubs, the league, and the police that it was safest to rearrange the game.”
