  1. Post update

    Queen's Park 1-0 Dunfermline Athletic

    Amy Canavan

    BBC Scotland at Hampden Park

    Where's that been of late?!

Bit of intent, bit of individual class and boom!

Lovely finish, that. No surprises it's Ruari Paton, eh...

  2. GOAL Queen's Park 1-0 Dunfermline Athletic

    Ruari Paton

It's the man who has threatened all night for the hosts!

Jack Spong steals the ball off Ben Summers and slips it to Paton, who works the ball onto his right and fires it low and hard into the corner.

It's a goal of Dunfermline's own making, but Paton took it well. That could be a huge goal.

  4. Early chance!

    Queen’s Park 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic

Cameron Bruce gets down the left again and crosses for Ruari Paton. He nudges Josh Edwards out the way, spins and fires at goal.

Deniz Mehmet gets a vital touch to put it over the bar, but the whistle had already gone. Willie Collum thought Paton had fouled the defender.

  5. Post update

    Queen’s Park 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic

That's the second half under way. Hopefully, it's a bit better than the first.

It needs some magic to spark it back to life, and an early goal for either team would help that.

  6. Benedictus tells it like it is...

HT: Queen’s Park 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic

Dunfermline's injured Kyle Benedictus tells BBC Scotland: "I came back last week from a torn thigh but I'm going back to a specialist tomorrow. I'm hoping the results aren't bad.

"I've never played in a team with so many injuries but the boys are showing a lot of heart. You can tell it's affecting us. We need to keep ganging in there and hopefully we'll get a chance second-half.

"It's been a poor game, if I'm honest. Not a lot of quality."

  7. Post update

HT: Queen's Park 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic

    Amy Canavan

    BBC Scotland at Hampden Park

I was here two weeks ago for a dreadful game of football between Queen's Park and Dundee United.

The bar was low, so I hoped for better.

I must admit I do not feel as though my hopes have been anywhere near fulfilled.

    Surely it will improve...?

  8. HALF-TIME Queen's Park 0-0 Dunfermline

Well, I'm going to blame Leanne Crichton for that first-half. She said it might be a turgid game and she's half-right at this stage.

Queen's Park have maybe edged the first-half, they've tested Deniz Mehmet more than Dunfermline have tested Calum Ferrie.

I suppose the hosts should have the lead through Ruari Paton, when he turned in Cameron Bruce's cross, but a poor offside decision ruled it out.

  9. Ouch!

    Queen's Park 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic

That's a sore one for Owen Moffat. Defending a corner, he collides with Jack Thomson's elbow and suffers a bad blow to the head.

Thankfully, there's no claret and he's back to his feet.

  10. Post update

    Queen's Park 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic

That's two saves in a row for Deniz Mehmet. You'd expect him to hold both efforts from Dom Thomas and Ruari Paton respectively, but it shows that Queen's Park are coming into this game.

Perhaps they are buoyed knowing Dunfermline are down to the bare bones defensively.

  11. Post update

    Queen's Park 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic

    Amy Canavan

    BBC Scotland at Hampden Park

James McPake is not a happy chappy down there.

His assistant, Dave Mackay, is trying to diffuse the situation a little.

He's not happy with certain decisions being made, going by the parts of his rant I can make out...

  12. Post update

    Queen's Park 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic

Ruari Paton has the ball in the back of the net, but it's offside against Cameron Bruce.

Oh dear. The replays show that was miles onside. That's a terrible decision.

  13. Post update

    Queen's Park 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic

Owen Moffat got a hold of that one. He plays the one-two with Ben Summers - his former Celtic youth colleague - and drills from distance, just wide.

He loves a long-distance effort when the Sportscene cameras are there.

  14. Early injury for the Pars

    Queen's Park 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic

Another injury for Dunfermline. Jeezy peeps. By my count that's eight first team players, including five defenders.

Aaron Comrie is replaced by Miller Fenton, a 20-year-old who makes just his third appearance of the season. A left-back by trade, he's now in the middle of a back-three.

    Aaron Comrie
  15. Post update

    Queen's Park 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic

    Amy Canavan

    BBC Scotland at Hampden Park

James McPake called his physios over to be ready pretty quickly there, long before Aaron Comrie went down.

His squad his down to the bare bones as it is and it's a very busy doctors room. He won't be wanting that added to...

  16. Post update

    Queen's Park 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic

A first chance for Queen's Park as Ruari Paton is slipped in behind by Jack Turner, and he forces a good save from Deniz Mehmet. The flag was up anyway, but I think Paton was onside.

Bad news for the Pars. Aaron Comrie has gone down hurt.

  17. Post update

    Queen's Park 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic

Dunfermline are getting into good crossing areas but so far they've been unable to pick out Alex Jakubiak.

They have a chance to whip the ball in from a free-kick, but Joe Chalmers' cross is cleared again.

  18. Post update

    Queen's Park 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic

Dunfermline get into the Queen's Park box for the first time as Josh Edwards and Owen Moffat play a nice one-two, but Jack Thomson throws himself in front of the cross and wins a goal-kick.

Both sides playing their way into it.

  19. KICK-OFF

    Queen's Park 0-0 Dunfermline Athletic

And we're under way at Hampden Park! Queen's Park are in their home kit, and Dunfermline in the resplendent red.

We think Dunfermline are lining up in a 3-4-1-2...

    Queen's Park v Dunfermline Athletic (19:45)

Head coach Paul Nuijten was part of Veldman's backroom staff. It is not known if he is in interim charge or not.

Queen's Park haven't won since August. Dunfermline have only won one of their last five.

It might be more thud and blunder than blood and thunder, but it's the Championship. It's bound to entertain.
