    Another close call for Aberdeen.

Celtic midfielder Paulo Bernardo heads forward to Kyogo Furuhashi then controls and lobs on to the top of the crossbar after goalkeeper Kelle Roos' intervention.

For all the Celtic pressure, the gloves of Aberdeen keeper Kelle Roos will still be pretty clean.

Jamie McGrath tries to hit the byline after taking down a long ball but runs it out. The Aberdeen fans are encouraged nonetheless.

  4. Postpublished at 13:15 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Aberdeen 0-0 Celtic

Connor Barron's swerving long ball is aimed at matching Bojan Miovski's run but Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart is quickly off his line to collect. Miovski was offside in any event.

  5. 'Chasing shadows'published at 13:13 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Aberdeen 0-0 Celtic

    Willie Miller
Former Aberdeen captain on BBC Sportsound

Aberdeen would like a bit of the ball and be able to take part in this competition.

All the chances have been created by Celtic, and Aberdeen have spent a lot of energy chasing shadows.

  6. 'Celtic haven't created much'published at 13:11 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Aberdeen 0-0 Celtic

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

I think Aberdeen will be happy if they get into half-time level. Celtic have dominated possession, but they haven't created a lot of chances.

  7. 'Aberdeen have to do better with the goal'published at 13:09 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Aberdeen 0-0 Celtic

    Willie Miller
Former Aberdeen captain on BBC Sportsound

It's been a difficult watch for the Aberdeen fans. The players are giving a lot of energy to the game, working hard to break the Celtic rhythm down.

It's not been particularly successful, and when they get the ball they have to do better.

  8. Postpublished at 13:06 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Aberdeen 0-0 Celtic

Another chance for Celtic and another chance for Luis Palma on the left-hand side of the box. His effort is partially blocked and Connor Barron completes the clearance. Good defending from the Dons.

  9. 'No malice'published at 13:04 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Celtic 0-0 Aberdeen

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

I don't think there was much in that. I don't think he even sees Scales coming.

Those are the types of things referees need to let go if there's no malice in them.

  10. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 13:04 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Aberdeen 0-0 Celtic

It's all getting a bit scrappy as Liam Scales lowers his head to make contact with the ball as Killian Phillips kicks high.

Celtic get the free-kick for the foul by Phillips and, eventually, Luis Palma shoots from the corner of the six-yard box and the shot clips the crossbar on its way out.

While Celtic have been utterly dominant so far, on the fleeting occasions Aberdeen have managed to get forward, the visitors defence has look less than composed.

It looks worse than what it is. Shinnie has that aggressive manner about him, he rushed in, and maybe the referee thought he was a little out of control.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:59 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Aberdeen 0-0 Celtic

And now Celtic's Maik Nawrocki is yellow carded for barging into Killian Phillips.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:58 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Aberdeen 0-0 Celtic

Aberdeen's Graeme Shinnie goes into the book for an untidy late tackle on Luis Palma.

  16. Miovski isolatedpublished at 12:57 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Aberdeen 0-0 Celtic

Bojan Miovski cuts a forlorn figure in attack for Aberdeen.

Whenever the hosts win possession back they tend to go long but it's a lot to ask of the lone frontman up there on his own.

The North Macedonia international has had just three touches so far - the fewest of any player on the park.

    Aberdeen 0-0 Celtic

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland international on BBC Sportsound

Aberdeen have to be brave and when they get the opportunity they need to dominate the ball.

That's the only route for them, to be able to take the pressure off themselves because Celtic so far have been truly dominant.

  18. Postpublished at 12:53 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

Sore one for Nicky Devlin as he's caught while making a clearance under pressure from Celtic's Kyogo Furuhashi. It was accidental and the Aberdeen right-back looks okay to carry on.

We are on the North Sea coast, but it is not waves of the watery variety we are seeing today.

It is wave after wave of Celtic attack so far at Pittodrie, and if it carries on like this it feels inevitable that an away goal is coming.

  20. 'Celtic dominating'published at 12:50 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

Celtic are dominating. As the home team, you would expect Aberdeen to be putting the visitors under some pressure by now.
