Sara: Referee been itching to send someone off, throwing yellow cards at Huddersfield but leaving Leeds players alone. Hope Town can hang on against 12 men.

Anon: Appalling tactics from Huddersfield, kicking lumps out of players is not part of the sport anymore, it's not 30 years ago.

Chris: Terrible refereeing ruined the game. This is a local derby! Ridiculously soft yellow cards favouring the 'big' team as usual.

Kyle: That's the most idiotic second yellow card you could wish to see. It's madness you just score, the ball's on the halfway line. Awful from Hogg which could in the end cost Huddersfield. So unprofessional.

So, it would appear fans of neither Huddersfield nor Leeds are happy with the officiating at the John Smith's Stadium. Kyle, I believe, is the neutral among them.

Well, this certainly came to life in the final minutes of the half.

The Terriers took the lead in the 45th minutes through Michal Helik's ninth goal of the season.

However, Town skipper Jonathan Hogg was then sent off in time added on for a second bookable offence.

Second-placed Leeds have it all to do if they're to pick up a club-record 10th straight league win but they have the extra man.

Of course, Jonathan Hogg would argue his case and say it wasn't a red.

If you bash someone in the face with your elbow and you're on a yellow...you're gone.

    Obviously the right decision.

Jamie Brilley: Hogg off for two yellow cards for two red card offences.

The veteran midfielder hadn't been sent off since 25 August 2018 before today.

  6. RED CARD: Jonathan Hogg (Huddersfield)published at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    Huddersfield 1-0 Leeds

The home side are a goal up but a man down!

Veteran midfielder Jonathan Hogg is given his marching orders for swinging an arm back into the face of Junior Firpo on the halfway line as they look to challenge for a high ball.

He can't believe it but, looking at replays, it's hard to argue.

It's unbelievable, the man can't stop scoring.

He's been out a month and there he is again, the poacher.

That's something for the Huddersfield fans to cheer about and build on in the second half.

    Huddersfield 1-0 Leeds

Leeds came back from a goal behind to beat leaders Leicester last week.

If they're to make it a club-record 10 straight league wins they'll have to do the same again today.

That's just the third goal they've conceded in the Championship this calendar year.

Oh, we're into NINE minutes of time added on at the end of this half by the way.

  9. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:18 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    Bristol City 0-0 Cardiff City

    All-square at the halfway point.

It's been a tight affair with not too many real openings.

Let's hope for more excitement in the second 45.

The top-scoring defender has done it again!

Jack Rudoni wins a corner out wide down the Town left and Sorba Thomas' free-kick is met meatily by Danny Ward.

Illan Meslier keeps out his initial effort but Michal Helik is there to gobble up the rebound.

Nine for the season for the Poland international now.

Approaching the break in Bristol and we're still looking for the opener to this Severnside derby.

Josh Bowler has had a couple of opening for the visitors but can't muster anything to trouble Max O'Leary.

Cardiff are looking to the double over the Robins having beaten them 2-0 back in October.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:10 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    Huddersfield 0-0 Leeds

The bookings are stacking up for Huddersfield now.

Centre-back Matty Pearson is the next to have his name taken for a foul on Crysencio Summerville.

He just catches the Leeds winger on his Achilles and can have no complaints about his caution.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:09 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    Huddersfield 0-0 Leeds

Leeds half-clear the corner and Joe Rodon wins a free-kick for the Whites as David Kasumu catches him as he looks to get it away.

That's both the Town centre midfielders on yellows now.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Leeds

Leeds win a free-kick high up down their left for a clash between Willy Gnonto and Town defender Matty Pearson.

The Italy international looks to be in real discomfort but is staying on for the time being.

The free-kick is cleared by the home side who launch a counter attack and ultimately win a corner of their own.

Quick aside, this is the eighth successive meeting between these pair at the John Smith's Stadium where both sides are managed by a different man from the previous match.

Andre Breitenreiter is in the dug-out for Town today, with German compatriot Daniel Farke in the opposing one.

The two came head-to-head in the Bundesliga last season when they were in charge of Hoffenheim and Borussia Monchengladbach respectively.

On the pitch, not a huge amount happening.
