Do you think Southampton will have to settle for a play-off place now? They're six points off second-placed Leeds, but with a game in hand.

But they do still have to play the top three.

Thumbs up if it's the play-offs for Saints. Thumbs down if you fancy automatic promotion.

  2. 'Shouldn't have to score four to win' - Martinpublished at 17:32 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    FT: Southampton 4-2 Sunderland

Southampton boss Russell Martin told BBC Radio Solent:

"I'm frustrated it got that close because we should have been out of sight in the first half. We created so many chances.

"I'm annoyed we conceded two goals because it shouldn't have ended up like that, but if you look at the results this weekend, we had to win and we found a way to win.

"We played some amazing football on the ball, were frustrating at times but brilliant character at the end.

"But we shouldn't have had to score four goals to win."

  3. Coming up on Sunday...published at 17:27 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

We've still got two games to come tomorrow.

Huddersfield, who slipped into the relegation zone today, host fifth-placed West Brom at 12:00 GMT.

Bristol City face Swansea at 12:30 with both sides needing a win to give them a bit of breathing space from the bottom three.

    FT: Millwall 1-0 Birmingham

Anon: Absolute travesty that Millwall have won that.

16 shots for Birmingham at The Den, and just one on target. Blues are bang in trouble after a third defeat in four.

Speaking of Watford, that's now just one win in 12 matches in all competitions following today's 2-1 defeat by Coventry.

Is it time for boss Valerien Ismael to go?

Thumbs up for yes, thumbs down for no.

  6. Championship bottom 10published at 17:12 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    #bbcefl

Plenty of ups and downs at the bottom after today's results.

Perhaps the biggest winners were Stoke, whose 2-1 win at Preston moved them out of the drop zone.

Defeats for Birmingham and QPR keep them well in the mire.

Out of shot, Bristol City (44pts), Watford (45pts) and Sunderland (47pts) will still be looking over their shoulders.

Norwich's 5-0 thumping of bottom side Rotherham sees them move above Hull and into the play-offs.

It's still hugely tight at the top with just four points separating the top three.

It was also a big win for Coventry City at Watford to maintain their play-off push for a second season in a row.

And that's Saturday done in the Championship. Time for a look at the table at the top and bottom...

  9. 'Rosenior will be proud'published at 17:06 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    FT: Hull 2-2 Leicester

    Peter Swan
Former Hull City player on BBC Radio Humberside

Hull got a standing ovation because the fans realised what they were up against. Realistically, they were evenly matched with Leicester and that's the team that we think are going to get promoted to the Premier League. If Hull had the right luck, they could have gotten the three points.

I think Liam Rosenior will be really proud of his team. It's a great point against a high quality team. A great game to watch.

Points shared at the MKM Stadium. Hull led twice through loan pair Fabio Carvalho and Anass Zaroury.

But that wily old fox Jamie Vardy came up with two equalisers, with one from the penalty spot, to ensure leaders Leicester pick up a point.

They are three points ahead of Leeds, and four in front of Ipswich, but their form of late doesn't shout promotion.

    Watford 1-2 Coventry City

Mark Robins' side continue their trend in the right direction towards the play-offs at Vicarage Road.

Two goals (one from the penalty spot) from American top scorer Haji Wright turned the tables on Valerien Ismael's Hornets after Ryan Porteous' super header had given the hosts an early lead.

    Hull 2-2 Leicester

Still going at the MKM Stadium as Wout Faes tries to be the hero for Leicester but his effort is over the top.

Hull boss Liam Rosenior has not made a single change all game. His players have put in a brilliant shift today.

    Southampton 4-2 Sunderland

Southampton keep pace with their automatic promotion rivals having been given a scare by Sunderland.

The Black Cats fought back having been 2-0 down at the break but Joe Rothwell's double inside two minutes put Saints back in control.

Saints are now six points off second. Sunderland slip to 12th having lost their sixth game in a row.

  14. 'Plymouth had Blackburn worked out'published at 16:57 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    FT: Blackburn 1-1 Plymouth

    Kevin Gallacher
Former Blackburn striker on BBC Radio Lancashire

At the end of it, there was only one team it - Plymouth. It was only the opening 10 minutes they struggled with. Thankfully Blackburn got the first goal because Plymouth had them worked out.

Sammie Szmodics is on fire this season, everything he touches goes into the back of the night. Morgan Whittaker was a quiet one but he only needed one chance.

Plymouth are by far the more happier side; Blackburn should be disappointed. It's hard to go down to 10 men but they've got to better. They've given away four points in the last two games.

  15. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:56 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Preston 1-2 Stoke

A massive, massive win for Stoke City who move out of the Championship bottom three and up to the lofty heights of 19th after a win at play-off chasing Preston.

That is a massive blow for Ryan Lowe's side's play-off aspirations, however.

  16. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:55 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Millwall 1-0 Birmingham

Huge result for Millwall as they win it thanks to Japhet Tanganga's last-gasp header.

The Lions are moving up to 16th and five points clear of the bottom three, so that shows how much this means to them.

Birmingham slip to 21st and they could be overtaken if Huddersfield beat West Brom tomorrow.

  17. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:54 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Blackburn 1-1 Plymouth

Morgan Whittaker scores for PlymouthImage source, Rex Features

Blackburn hang on to rescue a point against Plymouth.

Sammie Szmodics scored his 21st Championship goal of the season to put Rovers ahead early on but Kyle McFadzean's sending off for the hosts let Plymouth back in.

Morgan Whittaker levelled for Plymouth but Argyle could not find a winner and it's all square in a game both sides might feel they should have won.

  18. INJURY TIMEpublished at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Hull 2-2 Leicester

Into NINE minutes of injury time at the MKM Stadium. Loads of time to grab a winner for either side.

  19. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Norwich 5-0 Rotherham

No mercy from Norwich, who move into the play-off places with this win.

Two goals from Gabriel Sara, and one apiece for Jacob Sorenson, Borja Sainz and Josh Sargent put the division's bottom side to the sword.

Rotherham, still winless away from home, move one game closer to a very inevitable return to League One.

  20. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    QPR 0-2 Middlesbrough

Michael Carrick makes it four 2-0 wins in a row at Loftus Road. This one his first as a manager after three for Manchester United as a player.

Emmanuel Latte Lath and Marcus Forss got the goals, as QPR's four-game unbeaten run comes to an end.

They're very much still in the relegation picture.
