Protests during Borussia Dortmund's recent game against Freiburg

Protests are becoming a regular occurrence at Bundesliga matches.

Last week, Borussia Dortmund beat Freiburg in another Bundesliga game delayed by protests against an investment proposal by the German Football Association.

After 36 minutes, tennis balls and chocolate gold coins were thrown on to the pitch from fans in the Dortmund section to cause a 10-minute delay.

In December, a majority vote by German clubs approved a proposal to sell some Bundesliga TV rights in exchange for investment capital.

Supporters threw tennis balls on to the pitch during Bochum's 3-0 win over Union Berlin in December and there was a 12-minute stoppage during Heidenheim's 1-1 draw with Wolfsburg last month as part of league-wide protests.

On 20 January, Dortmund's 4-0 victory at Cologne was subject to an eight-minute delay with tennis balls and gold coins thrown on to the pitch from fans from both teams.

On Friday 9 February, there was also a protest during Hannover's 4-3 win over Hamburg in Bundesliga 2.

Hamburg fans chained six padlocks to the goal and netting at half-time, three locks to either post at one end, with the padlocks having to be cut off before play could resume.

In the Dortmund-Freiburg match, a number of tennis balls and chocolate gold coins were thrown on to the pitch behind the goal the hosts were defending in the first half.

We had protests in the Bundesliga earlier on today with remote control planes being flown around the stadium in the match between Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt.

The players were taken off the pitch, before they finally completed the match, which ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

We've now had a delay here as tennis balls have been thrown on to the pitch.

  16. Bayern's bad weekpublished at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February

It has been a bad eight days for Bayern Munich. A 3-0 thumping at leaders Bayer Leverkusen and then a 1-0 loss against Lazio in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

Harry Kane's side are eight points behind Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga so can they get a much needed three points today?
