    In December 2023, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti signed a new deal with the club which will run until June 2026.

    The Italian, 64, was appointed at the Bernabeu for a second time in 2021 on an initial three-year deal.

    Ancelotti has won 11 titles as Real boss, including two Champions Leagues - most recently in his first season back at the club in 2021-22.

    He has also lifted one La Liga title, two Copas del Rey, two Club World Cups, two European Super Cups and two Spanish Super Cups.

    Barcelona thrashed Getafe yesterday as they moved up to second in La Liga.

    Raphinha opened the scoring for the hosts, with Joao Felix, another player recalled to the Barca starting XI, adding the second just after the break.

    Frenkie de Jong and Fermin Lopez rounded off the scoring for Xavi's side.

    Los Blancos are missing their main man at the moment.

    Midfielder Jude Bellingham has had a debut season to remember in Madrid but he suffered an ankle injury in the 4-0 league win against Girona earlier this month and remains injured.

    Bellingham is still top of the LaLiga scoring charts with 16 goals, ahead of the likes of Alvaro Morata, Robert Lewandowski and Antoine Griezmann.

    Real Madrid have not lost any of their last 19 La Liga matches (W14 D5), their best unbeaten run in the competition under Ancelotti.

    You have to go all the way back to 24 September 2023 for the last time Real were defeated in the league. City rivals Atletico Madrid beat them 3-1 with an Alvaro Morata double and a goal from Griezmann.

    The Spanish centre-back spent 16 years with Real, making 671 appearances. He is the club's fourth-highest all-time appearance maker, topped only by Raul (741), Iker Casillas (725) and Manolo Sanchís (710).

    Ramos won 22 titles while at Madrid, including four Champions Leagues, five LaLiga titles and four Spanish Super cups.

    While at Real, Ramos found the net an incredible 101 times, a very impressive total for a defender.
