  2. 'Great game'published at 21:09 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

    HT: Benfica 1-2 Rangers

    Ally McCoist
Former Rangers striker & manager on TNT Sports

It's been a great game, 45 minutes of action.

It was the perfect start for Rangers with a really well-worked goal.

I'm not giving that penalty, and I'm not sure it's given in England. There's not a lot Souttar can do about it.

I think Goldson makes that second goal with bravery. He takes one and Rangers get the benefit for it.

  3. Rangers resolve tested and they're passing the testpublished at 21:07 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

    Benfica 1-2 Rangers

    Martin Dowden
BBC Sport Scotland at Estádio da Luz

What a response from Rangers in an incredible first half.

That penalty concession would have knocked them for six in the circumstances but to go up the pitch and regain thier lead is incredible.

All positivity in the stadium, bar the travelling support, evaporated.

It's a huge scoreline at this stage of the tie.

  4. 'Incredible!'published at 21:03 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

    HT: Benfica 1-2 Rangers

    Steven Thompson
Former Rangers striker on BBC Sportsound

On first viewing I thought Sterling was offside, but he times his run to perfection.

He pops up from nowhere to tap it home.

What an incredible couple of minutes!

Five of Benfica's last seven goals in the Europa League have all been penalties, including their last three in the competition - all being scored by Angel Di Maria.

That joy didn't last long though...

Not a bad time to get it.

GOAL! Benfica 1-2 Rangerspublished at 20:52 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

    Dujon Sterling

    Goodness me.

The keeper makes an absolute mess of a cross and it leads to Fabio Silva rolling a superb ball in for Dujon Sterling to finish first time.

Rangers. In the Europa League. Box office.

Think the offside flag has just saved Jack Butland.

Rafa races in behind and is clattered by the Rangers keeper, but the flag is up.

But it doesn't faze Angel Di Maria.

A stutter and a cool finish just to the left of centre.

  15. PENALTY to Benfica!published at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

    Benfica 0-1 Rangers

    Yep. Not surprised.

John Souttar basically heads the ball off his own hand, which is high, and it's a pen after a VAR review.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:45 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

    Benfica 0-1 Rangers

Bit of Benfica pressure as the clock hits 42.

A corner comes in from Angel Di Maria, think a Rangers head gets on it then Jack Butland reacts.

David Neres races forward seconds later and forces Butland into another fine save, this time with his boot.
