  2. 'I'm trying my best to steady ship' - Warnockpublished at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    St Mirren v Aberdeen (15:00)

Aberdeen manager Neil Warnock tells BBC Scotland: "You've just got to be positive, that's what I told the lads.

"The game will take care of itself, they're flying but that gives us impetus to dampen things for them.

"They have to stand up and be counted and play when they can. You can have as many meetings as you want, it's what happens on the pitch that matters.

"All you can do is your best. That's what I'm doing at the moment. You get ups and downs, quite rightly you get stick. That's how it goes. I was a fan once, I understand when fans don't like what's going on.

"I know I'm only interim manager, but I've got to do my best to try and steady the ship while they try to bring in the man they want. That's what I'm trying to do."

  3. Dundee 'reset' after midweek thrashingpublished at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    Dundee v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Dundee manager Tony Docherty tells BBC Scotland: "Trevor's had a slight niggle, but I've got a fantastic goalkeeper in Jon McCracken. He's been waiting for his opportunity and he's got it today. I want him to take it.

"(Wednesday's 7-1 loss at Celtic) is very much deleted, we're reset and ready for this game, going in in a positive frame of mind. We've been good at home lately and we're focusing on that.

"We've [bounced back] before this season and that's testament to the squad. It doesn't just happen, it's by design and they work hard at it. I'll be looking for more of the same today."

  4. Rangers players 'in a good place' - Clementpublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    Rangers v Motherwell (15:00)

Rangers manager Philippe Clement has been explaining to BBC Scotland why he continually makes a handful of changes to his line-up.

"They are all playing, they are all enjoying, they are all working hard, they are all getting the points," the Belgian says.

"They are in a good place just now, but it starts with being sharp every second they are in the building, in training and the games. I want to see the desire to work for the team and, if you do that, you will get minutes with me."

Striker Cyriel Dessers and left-back Ridvan Yilmaz have turned round their form under the new boss, who adds: "I have a rule that you have to give anyone a year to adapt to a club, but it is our job to get the best out of a player as fast as possible and, if it is not working, you have to find solutions."

  5. Levein aiming to replicate 'energy and desire'published at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    St Johnstone v Livingston (15:00)

St Johnstone manager Craig Levein tells BBC Scotland: "There will be players who feel fatigued as the match heads towards the end, so we need to be clever with the substitutions. I hope we can bring the same energy, desire and have the same outcome as the Aberdeen game on Wednesday.

"Training has been good this week. The lads are upbeat. It's football, anything can happen. Livingston are here fighting for their lives. We need to be very good today.

"We're "in the same position as Livingston. It's incredibly important we get the performance out the players today. I'm sure Davie [Martindale] will be feeling the same."

On Adama Sidibeh's return to the squad: "Really pleased. It's been a tough week for him. He's clear of any difficulties. It's good to have him back. It gives us that little bit extra off the bench."

  6. 'Warnock learning on the hoof'published at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    St Mirren v Aberdeen (15:00)

    Willie Miller
Former Aberdeen captain on BBC Sportsound

Neil Warnock is a manager with huge experience, but most of his line-ups seem almost experimental in terms of personnel and shape. I'm not sure he did much investigation into the team he was going to be managing before he came in. He's finding out on the hoof.

  7. Six changes for Dundee; Deas replaces Findlay for Killiepublished at 14:28 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    Dundee v Kilmarnock (15:00)

The biggest of Dundee's six changes is undoubtedly in goals where Trevor Carson drops out. He's replaced by on-loan Jon McCracken - who started Dundee's first league game of the season before returning to Norwich.

Aaron Donnelly, Josh Mulligan, Mo Sylla, Lyall Cameron, and Scott Tiffoney all come in from the side that lost 7-1 to Celtic through the week.

Stuart Findlay is absent for Kilmarnock, with Robbie Deas returning - the centre-back will wear a mask to protect a facial injury.

The rest of the Killie team is unchanged, with David Watson and Kevin van Veen still left on the bench.

  8. Clement rotates again; Blaney & Vale start for Wellpublished at 14:26 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    Rangers v Motherwell (15:00)

Philippe Clement rotates his squad again, with four changes from the side that won 2-1 in Kilmarnock on Wednesday.

In come Ridvan Yilmaz at left-back, Nico Raskin is joined by versatile Dujon Sterling in midfield, while Cyriel Dessers is up front. Tom Lawrence drops to the bench despite being praised for his performance at Rugby Park and is joined there by Borna Barisic and Fabio Silva, but winger Oscar Cortes misses out through injury.

Striker Kemar Roofe and midfielder Ryan Jack return among the substitutes.

Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell makes two changes from the side that won in Livingston, with defender Shane Blaney and on-loan Blackburn Rovers striker Jack Vale both starting.

Sam Nicholson drops to the bench, while Adam Devine misses out against his parent club, but former Rangers utility man Andy Halliday and Georgie Gent are fit enough to be among the substitutes.

  9. Hibs unchaged; Baldwin returns for Countypublished at 14:24 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    Hibernian v Ross County (15:00)

Hibs boss Nick Montgomery sticks with the same XI which started the Edinburgh derby draw on Wednesday night.

Ross County welcome back captain Jack Baldwin for the first time in 2024.

The centre-back takes in place in a back three in place of Loick Ayina.

James Brown also comes in, with striker Simon Murray absent due to illness.

  10. Sidibeh on Saints' bench; three Livi changespublished at 14:21 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    St Johnstone v Livingston (15:00)

Unsurprisingly, Craig Levein names the same St Johnstone XI that ended their winless streak at Pittodrie.

In encouraging news, Adama Sidibeh is on the bench after his stint in hospital following his collapse in Paisley a week ago.

David Martindale makes three changes to the Livingston side that fell to demoralising defeat against Motherwell on Wednesday.

Cristian Montano makes his first start since 20 January, drafted in alongside Michael Devlin and Andrew Shinnie. Out go Jamie Brandon, Bruce Anderson and Joel Nouble.

  11. St Mirren unchanged; Hoilett makes first Aberdeen startpublished at 14:19 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    St Mirren v Aberdeen (15:00)

St Mirren are unchanged following their midweek draw at Ross County.

Midfielder Keanu Baccus misses out with a knock, but Conor McMenamin returns to the matchday squad.

Neil Warnock, still searching for a first Premiership win, makes four switches after a poor home defeat to St Johnstone on Wednesday.

Jack Milne is out for Nicky Devlin at right-wing back, while Jonny Hayes, Jamie McGrath and Leighton Clarkson all drop out.

Junior Hoilett is in for his first start, along with Killian Phillips and Luis 'Duk' Lopes.

  12. 'Burn out' worry for Motherwell?published at 14:17 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    Rangers v Motherwell (15:00)

    Stephen Craigan
Former Motherwell captain on BBC Sportsound

This is a real challenge for Motherwell. Rangers have had 115 shots in their last four home league games.

I just hope Motherwell haven't burned themselves out. They spent so long without the ball in the second half against Celtic and during the week they had to fight back on a difficult pitch at Livingston.

  13. 'Rangers moving in the right direction'published at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    Rangers v Motherwell (15:00)

    Kenny Miller
Former Rangers striker on BBC Sportsound

Rangers have real momentum, there's a belief about their play. They dismantled Hearts last week and came through a tough game away to Kilmarnock. This team is moving in the right direction.

  14. Can United take advantage of Raith slip?published at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    Scottish Championship

Raith Rovers looked well on their way to top spot in the Championship when they led 2-0 at Gayfield last night, but Arbroath had other ideas, banging in three goals in 16 minutes to turn the game on its head.

Dundee United can move three points clear if they get a win today, but a trip to third-placed Partick Thistle is no easy assignment.

You never know quite what to expect from Thistle, who have gone five games without a win since dumping Ross County out of the Scottish Cup, all while scoring 10 goals.

United have hit eight in two league wins against the Jags this season, but there may be some jitters after last week's home defeat to Airdrieonians.

  20. 'When the fun begins'published at 14:00 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

"When you arrive at 10 games to go, that’s when the fun begins," said Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers yesterday.

While he has to wait until Sunday, we have 10 Scottish Premiership sides in action today, all scrapping for something.

Rangers are at home to Motherwell, aiming to open up a five-point lead at the top.

At the other end, Livingston are running out of time to get back in touch with the pack.

In between, we have teams jostling for a European spot and to get as far away as they can from the play-off place, currently occupied by Ross County.
