More from Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag speaking to Sky Sports on conceding so many shots at goal: "We have used the same back line twice and these players gave everything, their maximum. But some of them are young, inexperienced and to do it match after match in the tough Premier League is difficult. It is hard but they have to deal with it, that is the demand of Manchester United.

"You see with every opponent there is that desire to beat us. Today they went to their limits, every match they went to their limits. We have to show resistance, control it and dominate it."

On the team talk at half time: "Two things. Stay in formation in possession and don't get erratic. And number two do your job defensively."

On ambitions of top four: "This is not enough, we know that. When you come into the final stage of the season this is not enough. The truth is we did not deserve more today. We have to do better, control the game, score goals and not give as many chances away."

On if fans need to be patient: "It is up to them but it is the truth. At this moment with all the problems we have we play to our levels. We can play very good and to our levels when everyone is on top form but we have to do it for the whole 90 minutes."

Manchester United

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag speaking to Sky Sports: "We have a team that is resilient, has character, we want to win.Twice we fought back from losing positions.

"We get in losing positions and it is totally unneccessary. Three times we lose the ball easily and in areas you should not lose balls and we were not always well organised. There were some gaps that the opposition benefitted from, especially down the right side, and with that we should do better."

On going in at half time just one goal down: "First of all it was us losing balls in the wrong positions. The first goal we were actually well set up but we lose the ball in a bad area and it was a goal. There were two or three more occasions where we should have dealt better with the ball.

"Then down the right side they were finding ways to hurt us and there were jobs to be done but it was not always done. Then you get problems. Go with your opponent, that is your job. One part is collaboration and the other is discipline.

"Second half was better. We took more responsibility and we closed up the sides. That also has to do with in the middle Harry Maguire was struggling in the first half, and you see we do't have many options at centre half any more. But in the second half his leadership and guidance helped us to be more closed."

Richard: ETH once again with this bizarre notion they have dropped points. Lucky to have any from the last few games.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We didn't take our chances, we had chances to finish with a better result. All the refereeing decisions were against us today.

"It's not bad luck, I complain about consistency. I can't understand the decisions. I did not think it was a penalty from Adam Smith. I disagree.

"These are important points, same way they are important for United they are important for us."

Manchester United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We know we have to win. We want to battle, to compete for the top positions. You see the game, we struggled first half, [Harry] Maguire was struggling but he overcame because we needed him to.

"The second half was much better, the good thing is we fought back twice from a losing position. The team spirit is good. By the end it could've been more composed and calm and we could've played more chances out.

"The opponent was struggling because they gave so much energy in the first half and there were so many gaps but we didn't benefit from it."

On Bruno Fernandes: "Scoring twice, very creative, it's true he gives a lot of energy to the team. He is acting as a captain, bringing the energy and we are very pleased with this.

"We are all disappointed but he expresses that feeling. We have to win our games and we have dropped too many unnecessary points in the last few games."

On Bournemouth's penalty being overturned: "It was not a penalty, definitely not. We conceded - in the last four games - three penalties, and all of them were debatable. The one we won today was also debatable."

Bournemouth

More from Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola speaking to Sky Sports on missed chances: "We had a lot of very good, clear chances. Sometimes Onana saved them, sometimes we did not have the finishes. We could not scorfe more goals. We did a good game, played well.

"United always finds a way to be dangerous and score goals and when you don't finish these kinds of teams they find a way to score and get back into the game.

"We played very well today, I am very happy with the performance. We were the best team today. We probably have to find a way to win these types of games.

"We are in the right direction, we want to improve and finish the season strong. We have a difficult schedule ahead of us, a lot of games away from home against top teams but if we perform the way we did today we will have chances."

On Dominic Solanke and England selection: "We have to respect Gareth [Southgate's] job because it is a tough job and there are many quality players. Dominic cannot do any more, it is not just about the goals but the performances that he gives us.

"For me, it is a luxury to have him as a number nine. It is not my decision and we all have our jobs. I guarantee you I would not change him. Whoever Gareth chooses, they are all top players."

Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola speaking to Sky Sports: "We could not finish it off. We are happy to take a point, and give importance to taking a point against Manchester United, but we think that we deserved the three points.

"We missed chances, especially in the first half. We should have begun the second half with a better scoreline. The reason we did not win was because we missed chances and all the refereeing decisions went against us. Those are the two main reasons."

On the penalty decisions: "[The handball] I think it is in the rules no? The ball rebounds from his teammate and what Adam does is instinctive. I think it is not called normally, these kind of handballs.

"I believe completely it was a penalty [for Christie]. Against Newcastle the penalty against us, the contact started outside the box. But [today] the first frame was put so the first contact was on the edge of the box, but the contact continues one,two metres inside and is stopping the player.

"It is not just one moment and Christie is down. The defender goes with Christie one, two metres inside the box. For me it is obvious.

"In the first half Kobbie Mainoo dives and it is not a yellow card, second half Ryan Christie, there is contact and he falls down, but yellow card for diving. What is the difference?

"I understand that we are safe, but for us every point is very important. Very, very important. In the last games since we are safe all the decisions have gone against us. But at the end we need the same respect as other teams. All the teams are playing for important things, and it cost us two points and a lot of hard work. We demand some consistency."

Manchester United

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot speaking to Sky Sports: "I think there were ups and downs. We went down two times but we had the right attitude to go back and fight for the game. We could've controlled much more, had more on the ball in the final third and been more patient. We conceded some counter attacks that created big chances for them and we could've controlled more."

On individual errors: "It's been happening in the last couple of games, we don't look to who has done it but we know it can happen at this level because they are clinical enough to score if we make mistakes. It's something we have to look for and try not to do.

"It's part of life to make mistakes. It's about reacting well the next game and the next few minutes to try to do better. That's what we have to overcome. We have to take responsibility but try not to do it for the next games and that's the challenge."

On conceding so many shots: "It's been one of our concerns, maybe [we need to] try to be more compact as a team - don't try to make the gap between defenders and midfield too big. Sometimes it is, and they counter on the counter-attack. It's something we have to improve because it's been nowhere near good enough for the level of this club.

"We've been showing belief through the season, coming back from down moments. Too many this season. We have to control more and have the game under control, we lose it too many times. That's the aim for the next couple of games."

Dominic Solanke scored his 17th Premier League goal of the season, the most ever scored by a Bournemouth player in a single campaign.

Only Erling Haaland (20) and Ollie Watkins (18) have more this season.

Solanke also became the second Bournemouth player to score home and away in a single season against Manchester United.

Joshua King did it in 2019-20, opening the scoring in both matches.

On a potential England selection for the Euros: "I would love to be there, everyone would love to be there, playing for your country in a big tournament. I just need to keep scoring and try and get as many as I can and I can be in with a shout."

On manager Andoni Iraola's style: "We had a bit of a slow start adapting to the style of play but the players we have it suits us like a glove. We have a lot of hardworking players. We like to press high and a lot of our goals have come from that. It's great for me pressing high because we win the ball back and it creates chances for me.

"We're such a confident side this season, we believe going into most games that if we're on our game we'll create chances. United are a big club but we've done well against them in both games this season. For us to create so many chances shows how good we've been."

Bournemouth

Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke speaking to Sky Sports: "Going into the game we were confident. Knew it would be tough game but we told ourselves we had beat them once this season so knew we could do it again. We created a lot of chances and should've been two or three up but we didn't take the chances and the second half was a tight game."

On the penalty decision: "I haven't looked at it back but on the big screen it looked on the line so I think it could've been a penalty. Unlucky to not get it there and thought it would be our opportunity to go on and win it at the end.

"To beat United is something we'd love to do, it would've been a good chance to win it at the end so the boys are obviously a bit gutted about that."

On the goal: "I don't score too many from range so it's nice to get one. I knew that I started the game well, I got the ball and saw him slip out the corner of my eye. I just had one thing on my mind and it was a good finish.

"Football is crazy sometimes I wouldn't have thought I would score this many this season. We've been great this season and the manager has been great since he came in I've had a lot more chances this season, the style of play it's suited me and I've benefitted from that."

Here's how the table looks for Manchester United following that draw. They sit seventh, 10 points off Aston Villa in fourth spot.

Bournemouth have gone unbeaten home and away against Manchester United for the first time in a Premier Leage season.

They scored five goals across the two matches, as many as they had scored in their previous eight meetings in the competition.

I can understand the Bournemouth fans not being happy with the officials, there was a couple of close calls.

Look at the chances created by Bournemouth, they had tremendous attacking intent and they deserve enormous credit.
