The teams are out at East End Park. A decent home crowd will be looking for their team to follow up on Saturdays win over Ayr United.

In fairness there is also a decent crowd who have made their way through from Lanarkshire.

And of course there is no VAR tonight so hopefully when a goal is scored players and fans can celebrate!

No pre-match chat with Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin tonight because he’s serving a one-match touchline ban because of an accumulation of yellow cards.

But we’ll hear from him post-match.

    Morton v Dundee United

    Kenny Crawford
    BBC Sport Scotland at Cappielow

I’ve just had a quick pre-match chat with Morton manager Dougie Imrie and here’s what he’s said:

“We’ve done well against a United this season, picking up four points out of six, so we’re hoping to put in another good performance.

“We didn’t turn up on Saturday (against ICT) which isn’t like us, especially at home, but we can turn that right tonight.

“The lads had gone 16 matches undefeated and one game shouldn’t de-rail that.”

  14. McPake and McCabe reunionpublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March

    Dunfermline v Airdrieonians (19:45)

    Brian McLauchlin
BBC Scotland at East End Park

Although these teams have not met since early December the managers had a chance meeting just ten days ago.

“I met James around ten days ago at The Hydro in the queue for popcorn and candy floss at Disney on Ice” McCabe told BBC Scotland.

“I saw the big baldy head and recognised it was James. We had a five or ten minute chat. I met a few families faces there and obviously looking forward to playing each other tonight.”

McPake says Kane missed most of last week through illness and only trained on the Friday ahead of the win over Ayr United.

He described the Championship as “mad" and a good run of results between now and the end of the season can push you well into promotion play-off contention.

“It’s so tight other than the two at the top. Everybody is fighting. Not only to keep their place in the league but also for the promotion play-offs.

"It’s exciting for the neutrals. We are only five points off the play-off but two points off Inverness in second bottom. It’s madness.”
