Just when you think the EFL can't serve up any more drama, it goes and produces another bonkers afternoon.

I think we've all earned a lie down in a darkened room and a nice tipple.

But we won't be resting for long. We'll be back on Tuesday for another 21 matches from the EFL's lower two tiers.

Thanks for joining us once again. See you soon.

  2. 'Missed opportunity' for Pompeypublished at 17:36 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    FT: Blackpool 0-0 Portsmouth

    Adam Cottier
BBC Final Score reporter at Bloomfield Road

    "A frustrating afternoon for Portsmouth.

"They are now 10 games unbeaten in League One, but they will see this as a missed opportunity to strengthen their position at the top after numerous second-half openings.

"Blackpool showed tremendous resilience after the red card for Jordan Rhodes and deserve credit for keeping Portsmouth, who struck the post twice as well, at bay."

Blackpool boss Neil Critchley said after the game that they will be appealing Rhodes' red card.

Victory over in-form Walsall made it 10 points from six games for Forest Green Rovers and Steve Cotterill's side have well and truly got the scent of freedom in their nostrils.

Colchester's defeat at Barrow made it four points from their last six and they are just two points clear of the drop-zone now, albeit with a game in hand and a better goal difference.

Sutton salvaged a point against Grimsby to narrow the gap and keep the Mariners in hot water while Doncaster will feel much better after seeing-off Crewe.

There were twists and turns, drama and despair, all afternoon long, but you wouldn't know it from looking at the top of the table.

Mansfield battled their way to a 3-2 win over Swindon, Stockport left it late to snatch the points against Newport, Wrexham came from behind and needed all their big names to see-off 10-man Morecambe, and MK Dons kept in touch by coming from behind to beat Salford.

Crewe and Walsall lost ground after costly defeats at Doncaster and Forest Green respectively, but the play-off race continues to be finely poised to say the least.

  5. Shrews and Wycombe pulling away from dangerpublished at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

Carlisle are now 16 points from safety after a 10th defeat in their last 11 matches at Charlton who’s relegation fears were eased slightly.

Port Vale swap places with Fleetwood and slip to second-bottom after a home defeat to Shrewsbury who climb three places to 17th and seven points above the drop zone.

Cambridge’s draw with Northampton edges them five points above the relegation spots, and moves them above Burton on goal difference.

Wycombe were given a little breathing space in their fight for safety after beating in-form Reading who slip down to 18th.

  6. Rams go second after rivals falterpublished at 17:23 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

League One table graphicImage source, BBC Sport

An emphatic win at Bristol Rovers moves Derby into the automatic promotion spots, leapfrogging Bolton who need a late header to earn a draw at Exeter.

The Rams were the only winners among the four teams who started the day in the top four and cut Portsmouth’s lead to five points after Pompey were held at 10-man Blackpool.

Barnsley drop to fifth after their hammering at the hands of Lincoln, while Peterborough replace them in fourth with victory at Burton and close within four points of the top two.

And Oxford close to within a point of the play-off places as they edge relegation-threatened Cheltenham and sixth-place Stevenage play out a goalless draw with struggling Fleetwood.

  9. 'Huge point for Exeter'published at 17:05 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    FT: Exeter 2-2 Bolton

    Pat Baldwin
Former Exeter City defender on BBC Radio Devon

On the first half performance I thought the game was dead and buried.

Exeter came out in the second 45 and responded fatasically, but I don't think people can argue with the final result.

    Huge point for Exeter psychologically.

    Forest Green 2-0 Walsall

The scoreline does not tell the story.

Manny Osadebe tapped in against his former club to put the hosts ahead, Rovers keeper Vicente Reyes then saved an Isaac Hutchison penalty before Kyle McAllister made the points safe from the spot at the other end. Oh, and the Saddlers had David Okagbue sent-off for a second yellow.

Walsall's five-match winning streak is over, Rovers are inching closer to pulling off the great escape under Steve Cotterill.

  14. CLOSE!published at 16:58 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Exeter 2-2 Bolton

    Almost an Exeter winner!

Mohamed Eisa has an effort on target but it's straight at Joel Coleman.

Six minutes into stoppage-time he has another sight of goal, but snatches at a loose ball and draws a huge save from Coleman.

  15. 'This will feel like 3 points for Blackpool'published at 16:58 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

Blackpool just need to keep going.

  16. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:57 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Mansfield 3-2 Swindon

What a bonkers game. The Field Mill faithful have been treated once again.

Lucas Akins gave the Stags an early lead and though Paul Glatzel levelled, Davis Keillor-Dunn made it 2-1 within seconds with a screamer.

Aaron Drinan headed another equaliser but Will Swan came off the bench to win it and it's as you were at the top.

    And breathe....

  17. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:57 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

The Shrews hold on for a BIG three points.

A first-half strike from Daniel Udoh and Tom Bloxham's second-half goal prove enough despite Bayley Dipepa's response.
