    Dundee 0-0 Rangers

    Craig Levein

Jordan McGhee actually should've done better. He's been in good goalscoring form arriving late into the box like that.

    Dundee 0-0 Rangers

Having said that, Dundee continue to look excellent.

Luke McCowan's cross eventually finds Jordan McGhee at the back post, and he lets the ball drop before driving a shot at Jack Butland, who pushes it round the post.

McGhee didn't catch that one too cleanly. It's a good chance.

    Dundee 0-0 Rangers

    Rory Loy
Former Dundee striker on BBC Sportsound

I don't think that was a penalty. Lyall Cameron nudged the ball up. It might've struck Souttar's arm but that's not a penalty.

    Dundee 0-0 Rangers

Dundee are claiming for a penalty here.

Lyall Cameron nudges the ball forward and it appears to hit John Souttar on the arm.

I think he was outside the box.

It's checked, and I think that's the call. Outside the box. On we go.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 10 mins

    Dundee 0-0 Rangers

    That's better from Rangers.

Todd Cantwell intercepts a pass and then plays a really nice ball in behind for Abdallah Sima, who strides into the box and forces Jon McCracken into a good save with his leg.

  8. Shaughnessy forced offpublished at 20:11 British Summer Time 17 April 2024

Joe Shaugnessy actually ended up going off the pitch, and he's not going to return.

  9. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Dundee 0-0 Rangers

James Tavernier lifts a cross to the back post, and Kemar Roofe heads towards goal while moving away from the target.

It goes quite a bit past the near post.

Dundee captain Joe Shaughnessy is down on the deck. He's fallen awkwardly and hurt himself.

He's been an ever present this season, and it looks as though he'll soldier on.

  10. Postpublished at 5 mins

A Dundee long throw finds Jordan McGhee in the Rangers box, but his attempted header hits off his back and goes straight through to goalkeeper Jack Butland.

The hosts are right up for this one.

  12. 'Nearly a terrible start for Rangers'published at 20:05 British Summer Time 17 April 2024

    Dundee 0-0 Rangers

    Craig Levein
St Johnstone manager on BBC Sportsound

I genuinely thought that was going to nestle in the bottom corner from where we are sitting.

What a terrible start that could've been for Rangers!

  13. CLOSE!published at 1 min

    Dundee 0-0 Rangers

Oh my, Dundee were a couple of inches from taking the lead there.

Amadou Bakayoko is played in behind James Tavernier and Connor Goldson.

His cross finds Malachi Boateng to the right of the penalty spot, and his low shot just goes past Jack Butland's far post.

    A let off for Rangers.

    Dundee trolling themselves. Superb stuff.

  16. Are Tavernier's goals papering over the cracks?published at 19:57 British Summer Time 17 April 2024

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

    Rory Loy
Former Dundee striker on BBC Sportsound

Should you really be relying on your right back to score that many goals?

It's a damning indictment on the likes of Dessers etc. that they haven't managed to take chances in the big moments.

There's an over-reliance on James Tavernier to score these goals.

Maybe his goals are papering over the cracks? He's scored two penalties in the last two games. He's been really poor in those games, for me.

  17. Rangers' defensive issuespublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 17 April 2024

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

Rangers have the league's meanest defence, conceding just 23 goals in their 32 games.

They also have the most clean sheets, aided by goalkeeper Jack Butland's superb displays.

However, that's gone awry slightly in the last six league games, where they've conceded 10 goals.

That's getting on for half their entire total in just six games. Can they re-discover their miserly streak?

  18. Docherty says 'objectives have now changed'published at 19:52 British Summer Time 17 April 2024

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

Dundee manager Tony Docherty tells Sportsound: "We wanted to retain our Premiership status first and foremost.

"We are punching above our weight, maybe four of fives places in this league.

"We have six games to go... let's see where we can get to.

"We could look back on this season with a great deal of satisfaction.

"The objectives have changed now because the players have ticked off all the previous objectives. So let's go and chase this next one now."

  19. Rangers need return to basics - Clementpublished at 19:50 British Summer Time 17 April 2024

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

Rangers manager Philippe Clement suggests the much criticised Dens Park pitch is "decent" and "looks much better than a few weeks ago", especially as "they have put some green paint on it so it looks better".

As for the defeat by Ross County, he tells BBC Scotland: "It was a disappointment of course. The first time in six months that team had an off day and not at their normal level.

"We lost our basics. We talked about repeating the basics again. We were too open, we were not reacting, we were not aggressive enough. We need to start with that again."

Clement says his side have shown previously they can handle the pressure of chasing Celtic for the title and adds: "They are all eager to react against a very good opponent."
