That's all from us for another weekend of drama in the Championship on a day we finally saw a change at the summit.

Jay Freeman's full match report is here for you to read at your leisure this evening.

And with that I'll raise a figurative glass to you and wish you a very good St Patrick's Day!

Millwall boss Neil Harris speaking with Sky Sports:

"I think first and foremost, Leeds probably deserved to win that game.

"My only disappointment is that when the opportunities came, we weren't ruthless enough to take them.

"We gave goals away at really poor times. Both halves we were on top. First half, in a less controlled manner.

"In the second half, we had a 10-minute spell where we were the better team, we were building momentum and then we concede. That's the frustration.

"I'm not bemoaning the group, we just have to keep improving."

Yes, Millwall may have been deservedly beaten today but this has still been an exceptional start for returning boss Neil Harris.

It's 10 points from five games for the Lions legend and they remain four points and six places above the drop zone, with eight matches left.

They showed plenty of fight here and should be fine if they keep that up.

And here it is - Leeds are top of the Championship table with eight games remaining.

Leicester held a 17-point advantage over the Whites at the turn of the year but that gap has been closed to zero, though the Foxes have a vital game in hand.

Three teams all separated by one point - these last few weeks are going to gripping!

Dan James clapsImage source, PA Media

Matchwinner Dan James speaking to Sky Sports: "We've been great this year to chase that gap [17 points to Leicester at the top of the table] but there's still eight games to go.

"It's not finished yet, we'll be ready for it after the internationals."

On his goal: "It came to me on my left foot and it was a bit out of my reach and I didn't want to drag it wide so I took the touch and I have took the shot so thankfully it's gone through his legs and into the goal."

Georginio Rutter said: "For the confidence it's good [to win], we played a good game.

"We were focused today, it's a hard opponent.

"The first game [against Millwall] was difficult as well.

"Today we have three points so we're happy."

    Leeds have been excellent.

I thought they were dominant. It was a really enjoyable game to watch - that's what Leeds are all about and they keep producing.

They were a lot better than the opposition. It was routine but I think Leeds made it like that. Daniel Farke will be delighted.

George Saville sends a free-kick over and that is that.

It's another win for Leeds at their fortress Elland Road.

Willy Gnonto opened the scoring with a stunning strike in the first half.

Millwall were much improved in the second half but Leeds substitute Dan James' late goal sealed the win for the home side and sends them to the Championship summit.

Leeds have brought on Connor Roberts, Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe for Patrick Bamford, the excellent Georginio Rutter and Glen Kamara as they see out the result that would take them to the top of the Championship.

Millwall still attacking right up to the final whistle.

  9. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 90+3 min

    Leeds 2-0 Millwall

Dan James rattles the post as we enter six minutes of added time!

That was a fierce effort from James cutting in on his left foot, no chance for Millwall keeper Matija Sarkic.

  10. 'Could have been a sticky one'published at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March

    Leeds 2-0 Millwall

    Leigh Bromby

This will be an excellent win. When I saw the fixture, I thought this would be a sticky one. Millwall are in-form with a new manager coming in but Leeds have done well so far.

    Leeds 2-0 Millwall

There's a hint of offside about Leeds' second goal as Georginio Rutter's big toe looks like it might just have strayed beyond the Millwall backline.

But we have no VAR and the goal stands for Dan James, who celebrates by sucking his thumb as a new dad.

    Leeds 2-0 Millwall

Is this a performance of champions?

Millwall have been the better side for large parts of this second half but clear-cut chances have been few and far between as the league's best defence has kept them at bay.

Leeds, on the other hand, have had one big chance in this second half and they've taken it.

Millwall are trying their best to cut through and Michael Obafemi tees up Zian Flemming to have a go, but his effort is straight at Illan Meslier.

    Into the final five minutes.

Slacky in Portsmouth: Dan James has been the unsung hero this season, great team player

Dean Plumley: If you had told me at Christmas that Leeds would be top of the league by Easter, I would have laughed, but my team are performing the impossible, WOW!!

As it stands Leeds are going top on goal difference, but one Millwall goal would put them back below Leicester on goals scored...

    What a save!

Zian Flemming crosses in for Ryan Longman for the Lions and his downward header zips off the turf and is heading for the top-right corner.

Meslier does brilliantly to claw it away - the linesman's flag goes up but take nothing away from the goalkeeper.

What a big goal that is!

Leeds have doubled their lead and are heading for the top of the Championship table.

Substitute Jaidon Anthony plays in Georginio Rutter on the left and Rutter charges towards the byeline.

His ball across the face is inch perfect and finds Dan James just outside the six-yard box.

The Wales winger sits Joe Bryan down, he waits and waits and finishes expertly through the Millwall bodies.

    Rutter has been excellent today.

Amazing defending from Japhet Tanganga keeps Millwall in the game.

His last-ditch touch sends Patrick Bamford's goalbound shot behind for a corner.

    Leeds 1-0 Millwall

Michael Obafemi almost scores a wondergoal to level things up here.

The Republic of Ireland international gets the ball on the edge of the Leeds area and jinks left and right, past Joe Rodon, past Archie Gray.

But the shot blazes over under pressure from Ethan Ampadu.

Much better from Millwall in the second half.

  19. 'Game has totally changed'published at 16:40 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March

    Leeds 1-0 Millwall

    Leigh Bromby

The game has totally changed with these Millwall substitutions. You're thinking why didn't Neil Harris start like this? Leeds are defending well but it's concerning that Millwall are getting these little opportunities.

  20. Postpublished at 75 min

    Leeds 1-0 Millwall

Millwall have caused the home side a few problems since making their raft of changes.

Crysencio Summerville is replaced by Jaidon Anthony for Leeds, maybe just as a precaution from that earlier injury.

    Approaching the final 15 minutes.
