Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes is ready to aim for European football now.

"I’m really proud of the players and pleased for their effort," he tells BBC Scotland. "Now, with seven games to go, we just refocus and try and finish the season as strong as we can.

“Once you get into the top six it’s [Europe] something that’s really worth working towards, so, yeah, why not.”

Dundee boss Tony Docherty tells BBC Scotland: "My thoughts on the game is that I am delighted at the mentality of my team to go and win a game in a really difficult venue against a good side.

"We have been constantly working on turning draws into wins and we saw that today. You saw a real team performance, a real disciplined and clinical performance. I am more delighted at the fact that it shows we're improving throughout the season.

"To get 10 wins with eight games to go is testament to the players."

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "We're happy with a draw away from home. It's another point towards the ultimate goal of top six. You can't expect to turn up and get three points.

"The goal was disappointing. One long ball into the box and we watched the ball instead of marking men. That's the biggest disappointment, but we had good opportunities.

"We had a couple of half chances, but Motherwell are a decent side. The boys have been fantastic all season and we have to remember that. An away point against Motherwell is a really good result for us."

St Johnstone boss Craig Levein tells BBC Scotland he is hoping that his side's performances will get the results they deserve in future games.

"We have been a wee bit inconsistent in our performances and today was one of the better ones, so to come away with nothing from the game is a wee bit of a sickener.

"When you are on a run like we are, you have to be perfect. When things are going with you, you get away with mistakes, but things aren't going with us. Their goalkeeper had next to nothing to do. Ultimately, the scoreline is the thing that matters.

"It is tough down the bottom end of the league and we just need to keep fighting. I have no complaints about the effort from the players."

Hearts head coach Steven Naismith is relieved that his side's gap with fourth-placed visitors remains the same with several players returning from international duty.

"It’s a hard one because the game’s after internationals are the hardest to prepared for and the hardest for players to play in from my experience," he tells BBC Scotland.

"A lot of our boys have travelled a lot, didn’t get back until Friday and you’re dealing with one day’s prep.

"I’m frustrated we didn’t win the game because when we go 1-0 up, we had some good play to get us into the final third, but it’s just that last wee bit. That comes from the boys being away, an intense time.

"Everything considered I’m relatively pleased."

Aberdeen caretaker manager Peter Leven tells BBC Scotland he is pleased with his side's second-half showing during their victory over County.

"I thought we started really well," he says. "We scored a good goal, but then Ross County came back into it and we were a little disjointed. But our reaction second half was really good.

"I thought we were going to score more goals. But, credit to Ross County, they caused us problems. Again, we showed character. The subs were great when they came on - Duk and Dante.

"To get three points - at home, where we have not been great this season - full credit to the boys for finding a way to win."

Philippe Clement said on Friday that he is "totally confident" that John Lundstram will sign a new contract.

Probed further about the English midfielder, whose current deal ends in the summer, the Rangers manager adds: "You're close when the pen is put on paper.

"That's not the case yet, but I know there is love on both sides."

Ross County interim manager Don Cowie tells BBC Scotland that he was "disappointed to get nothing" after their defeat in Aberdeen.

"If you make errors, you get punished at this level - and that is what we did," he says. "A really good performance, I was happy at one each. We were really in the game at that stage.

"For the first 10 minutes, we were spooked. Maybe it was the occasion, the big game, the crowd. Aberdeen got the goal, but the response was excellent. We built into the first-half really well and got the goal we deserved.

"I'm really proud of them once again. But we've got to learn why we aren't getting anything away from home.

James Tavernier's 131st career goal has moved the Rangers captain clear as Britain's highest-ever scoring defender.

He had previously drawn level with former Scotland full-back Graham Alexander.

Tavernier missed a penalty in the win over Hibs but made up for it with a fine finish moments later to put his side 3-1 ahead, much to the delight of his manager.

"It's incredible," Philippe Clement told BBC Scotland. "He still has a few more years to go.

"He doesn't only want to score goals. He does his bit for the team. We're all proud of him."

Marley Watkins' equaliser against Hearts would have already been pretty special for anyone of a Killie persuasion, but it gets even better as that point now guarantees them a top-half finish in the Premiership.

Hibs' loss at Ibrox was the permutation that had to go with a Killie draw and Derek McInnes' side can now fully target a European spot.

Their last top-sox finish was in the 2018-19 season under a certain Steve Clarke.

Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Scotland the draw with St Mirren was "probably fair in the end".

"St Mirren are a team who, if they get their nose in front, are very difficult to play against," he says. "I'm pleased at the reaction we got and the quality for the goal, but in general I thought we could have passed the ball better.

"It was just that execution in the end. We fashioned a few good opportunities, but we can be a lot better than what we were over the 90 minutes."

A top-six finish is hanging by a thread and Kettlewell adds: "Mathematically we've still got a chance. We're still to play teams above us. I've never said we'll get top six, but until it's mathematically impossible, that's our goal."

Rangers manager Philippe Clement is coy again about facing reigning champions Celtic next weekend after his side moved two clear at the top of the table before their city rivals visit Livingston on Sunday.

"It doesn't matter what our position is," he tells BBC Scotland. "Okay, it's the Old Firm, but it's not the decisive game, it's the next game. It will be great atmosphere."

Clement was delighted with his side's win over Hibs, adding: "It's a good feeling to play again and to win again. It's all about that. It was a very convincing performance, a lot of good football and a tremendous atmosphere in the stadium.

"We dominated Hibs with and without the ball. We could have scored four, five, six.

"It was important also that I had the ability to give players minutes out of injury. It was a perfect scenario in this way."

St Mirren needed to beat Motherwell and hope Hibs lost to secure a top-six finish.

They could only draw at Fir Park, but they remain fifth and now have an five-point cushion over Hibs in seventh, while Motherwell are six behind a Dundee side who moved up to sixth after their win in Perth.

This was just what Rangers wanted to send them into next weekend's derby with a spring in their step.

Their football was good, as was their energy. Three different goalscorers in James Tavernier, Cyriel Dessers and Rabbi Matondo, all with fine finishes as well and Abdallah Sima back from injury for the first time since 2 January.

Celtic now need to win in Livingston on Sunday if they want to head to Ibrox as league leaders.

As for Hibs, they kept this competitive for a long time, played some nice football and will wonder whether things could have turned out differently.

They too welcomed back Martin Boyle for a second-half cameo after his bad head-knock in the cup defeat to Rangers at Easter Road and the winger could be vital as they try to regain that spot in the top six.

Stenhousemuir are made to wait to secure the fourth-tier title and promotion after their draw with third-top Dumbarton.

Peterhead consolidate second after Peter Pawlett's hat-trick helped secure a big win over Clyde.

Spartans stay six points ahead of East Fife in fourth after both won.

Meanwhile, Stranraer and managerless Bonnyrigg Rose edge three clear of Clyde at the bottom after sharing the points

As mentioned earlier, Falkirk are promoted as League 1 champions as they prepare to face Montrose in the BBC Alba live game after Hamilton were held by Queen of the South.

Alloa are now two ahead of Montrose in third after they were also held at home by second-bottom Annan, who move to within Stirling Albion after their defeat by Cove Rangers.

Cove are now level with Montrose, while Kelty move above Queens into sixth after their win over relegated Edinburgh.
