  1. 'Huge ask' for Sutton to survivepublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 20 April 2024

    FT: Sutton Utd 2-2 Crawley

    Chris Wise
Final Score commentator at the VBS Community Stadium

Sutton survive, but for how many more days?

They need Colchester to lose both their last two games, and Sutton would still need to beat MK Dons next week too.

Steve Morison’s team had made it very interesting after fighting back to lead 2-1, but that late Crawley goal visibly deflated the Sutton players and crowd. They know now that it’s a huge ask to maintain their place in the Football League.

  2. How things look at the bottom as it standspublished at 18:07 British Summer Time 20 April 2024

    HT: QPR 1-0 Preston

QPR fans and just fans who love a table graphic, feast your eyes on this.

As things stand, this is how the bottom of the Championship table looks.

With most sides having two games remaining after today, the Rs will have a six-point cushion and favourable goal difference in their fight against the drop.

  3. 'Not all about Woodman mistake'published at 18:05 British Summer Time 20 April 2024

    HT: QPR 1-0 Preston

    Mick Payne
    Co-commentator on BBC Radio Lancashire

It's really pleased me how all the subs have come up to Freddie Woodman as if to say you're still our number one keeper. Look, it's not all about Woodman. Yes, he made a mistake but Preston have got to do better.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:04 British Summer Time 20 April 2024

    QPR 1-0 Preston

The first half draws to a close at MATRADE Loftus Road.

Lyndon Dykes' close-range strike at the far post, which came moments after Preston keeper Freddie Woodman's fumble, gives QPR the lead at the break.

The Rs are headed six points clear of the Championship relegation places as things stand and will take a giant leap towards safety.

  5. INJURY TIMEpublished at 45 mins

    QPR 1-0 Preston

This match has calmed down a bit right before the break.

    One minute time added on.

  6. 'Millar is a threat'published at 18:02 British Summer Time 20 April 2024

    QPR 1-0 Preston

    Mick Payne
    Co-commentator on BBC Radio Lancashire

Get Liam Millar on the ball and he's a threat. He won't always have success but he's a threat. He's causing all kinds of mayhem and on another occasion, he could have got the ball to another North End player.

We are coming up to half-time - make something happen, Preston.

  7. Postpublished at 40 mins

    QPR 1-0 Preston

Ilias Chair sends Lyndon Dykes through with an absolute peach of a pass after Preston calamitously lose posession in midfield.

Dykes charges through unmarked as the Preston back line make chase but their blushes are spared as he decides to drive to goal from about 30 yards out and buries his shot low and wide of the mark.

  8. Postpublished at 37 mins

    QPR 1-0 Preston

Penny for the thoughts of Preston boss Ryan Lowe.

His side started quite well against QPR but a howler from Freddie Woodman and another shaky moment 15 minutes later has meant they're headed into the break well on the back foot.

You get the feeling that Woodman's confidence has taken a knock, here.

Meanwhile, Jack Colback is shown a yellow card for kicking the ball away - his 12th booking of the season - just before Preston were due to take a free-kick.

  9. Postpublished at 35 mins

    QPR 1-0 Preston

It's all QPR at the minute.

Ilias Chair sends a speculative cross in across the face of goal which sails out but the Rs keep it alive and at the opposite side of the field Chris Willock whips in a low drive which takes a deflection just wide of the post and the hosts win a corner.

It's sent into the box and North End keeper Freddie Woodman fumbles AGAIN but this time Preston just about clear their lines.

  10. 'QPR threatening'published at 17:51 British Summer Time 20 April 2024

    QPR 1-0 Preston

    Mick Payne
    Co-commentator on BBC Radio Lancashire

That first 10 minutes, I thought it was a really open game, a good tempo. Preston North End looked lively but since the goal, QPR have gone on and looked the more threatening side.

Asmir Begovic made a great save; Freddie Woodman made an error. Sometimes that's how it goes.

  11. Postpublished at 30 mins

    QPR 1-0 Preston

Some cracking work from QPR in midfield to win the ball back from Preston and set up a flowing set of passes, led by Chris Willock, to threaten another goal.

Willock is eventually played through on the edge of the box and he has plenty of time to unleash a curling shot from distance which forces a save from North End keeper Freddie Woodman.

  14. 'You're going to make mistakes'published at 17:41 British Summer Time 20 April 2024

    QPR 1-0 Preston

    Mick Payne
    Co-commentator on BBC Radio Lancashire

It was more than comfortable - it was a routine catch for Freddie Woodman.

You can't expect that you'll be on your game every session and he's an experienced keeper, he'll know that. When I'm working with my keepers, I say all the time 'listen, you're going to make mistakes, it's how you deal with them'. You've got to get over them quickly.

  15. Postpublished at 23 mins

    QPR 1-0 Preston

Watching a replay of that Lyndon Dykes goal, it's actually not a bad finish given the area of the pitch in which it lands from Preston keeper Freddie Woodman's fumble.

He still has quite a lot to do and it's virtually on the byline and he has to stretch to send it home.

    Decent.

GOAL: QPR 1-0 Prestonpublished at 20 mins

    Lyndon Dykes

QPR take the lead against Preston and it's a goalkeeping howler!

Chris Willock sends a cross into the North End box which really should be easy to deal with but keeper Freddie Woodman fumbles it into the path of Lyndon Dykes at the back post who taps in with ease.

Woodman won't want to watch that back. But as it stands that moves QPR up to 50 points and that could be safety given results elsewhere today.

    QPR 0-0 Preston

Ilias Chair thumps a shot over the Preston crossbar after QPR play a corner short just beforehand.

In the mean time, let's have a look at the headlines from today's Championship matches so far following that result in Rotherham.

  19. 'Opportunity missed'published at 17:35 British Summer Time 20 April 2024

    FT: Rotherham 0-0 Birmingham

    Darren Carter
Ex-Birmingham midfielder on BBC Radio WM

I can't help but feel disappointed. It was an opportunity missed. Blues showed better sides in the second-half but still needed that bit more energy, more quality. Disappointing, frustrating - I'm sure that Gary Rowett and the team feels the same, so do the fans, but it's another point on the board.

  20. FULL-TIMEpublished at 17:33 British Summer Time 20 April 2024

    Rotherham 0-0 Birmingham

All over at the New York Stadium and it's all square between Rotherham and Birmingham.

There was a lengthy delay to the game after a medical emergency in the stands with 11 minutes gone but there were no goals when we did get back going again.

Birmingham miss the chance to pad out a gap between themselves and the bottom three but finish the day two points off the drop zone after third-from-bottom Huddersfield's earlier heavy 4-0 defeat by Swansea.
