Daniel :): Rosberg to tap Hamilton into the first corner and then a standard Monaco race with very little overtaking.

Phil Slocombe: Lewis will need to watch for Nico trying to banzai up the inside of corner 1; he has a tendency to out-brake himself and run wide.

Kayleigh Gray: Rosberg for the win. Ham P2, Vet P3. JB to score a point or two as well!

Lewis Hamilton looking stylish as ever there, although he does appear to be slowing morphing into Cat of Red Dwarf fame.

Here he is wearing a shiny number for the Cannes Film Festival last week, attire Cat would be proud of.

"My shiny thing!" (Unless you are a child of the '80s, this reference may well pass you by...)

Nico Rosberg will likely need to produce something special to win the Monaco Grand Prix, but if he manages it he will deservedly take his place alongside some legends of Formula 1.

He has won the last two Monaco GPs and the only drivers to have won it three times in a row are Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost and Graham Hill.

    Illustrious company indeed.

Hello and welcome to our coverage of the Monaco Grand Prix.

It is advantage Lewis Hamilton after he secured his first pole position in the Principality on Saturday and, with nine of the last 10 races having been won by the pole sitter, the world champion will surely fancy his chances today.

However, waiting to pounce on error will be Nico Rosberg, who lines up second on the grid. If there is anything the rivalry between the two has taught us it is that, much like this circuit, there will be plenty of twists and turns to come.

    Andrew Benson
    Chief F1 writer in Monaco

"Lewis Hamilton came to Monaco with an iron determination to take the pole and win he feels his abilities around this uniquely demanding track deserve, and the first task on the job list has been ticked off.

"In superlative form in Thursday practice, Hamilton and his engineering team had a bit of a wobble in final practice and Nico Rosberg was back on terms in the first part of qualifying. But lock-up and trip into the Sainte Devote run-off area in Q2 and another in Q3 gave Hamilton a relatively easy run to pole.

"He is not expecting a cruise in the race, though. 'The job is not even half done,' Hamilton said. 'There is so much to do in the race. There is a long way to go, many, many laps here. It's going to be mentally and physically challenging.'"

Monaco. Lewis Hamilton's home but, for one weekend a year for the last six years, it has often been a place of pain for the Briton.

Since securing his sole victory there in 2008, the reigning world champion had failed to find the formula to produce a pole-winning lap on this circuit. At least, until yesterday.

The job, as Hamilton said himself, is 'not even half done'. Can he finish it off with victory today?
