Sebastian Vettel threw down the gauntlet with that final qualifying lap, clocking a 1:43.885. That was 1.4s faster than Lewis Hamilton's effort.

My word! What a qualifying session that was!
No eighth consecutive pole position for Lewis Hamilton and he has a tough day in prospect tomorrow in his pursuit of victory on a circuit where it is notoriously difficult to overtake on.

Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen were the only two drivers not to set a time in that first run. What a moment it would be for Verstappen if he qualifies ahead of both of the Mercedes!

Before the yellow flags after Carlos Sainz's incident late in Q2, both Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton had personal bests through the first two sectors.

Their engine upgrade means they can also turn up the wick as well. It is just going to make it harder for Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
