F1 journalist Dan Knutson: "Romain Grosjean just headed out for the first lap of the day in the Haas VF-16 and then came back into the pits. The car did one installation lap on Saturday, but an oil leak prevented it doing any more laps that day."

The car Renault unveiled earlier this month has a predominantly black livery with flashes of yellow - the company's corporate colour.

However, Renault Sport Racing president Jerome Stoll has implied the livery could change before the season gets under way in Australia, with the colours in the above picture only temporary for testing.

I'd like to see a bit more bumblebee going on, a la 2010 Renault.

Sebastian Vettel is back out on the circuit after a brief appearance earlier this morning. Joining him are Romain Grojean in the Haas and British driver Jolyon Palmer in the Renault.

Really looking forward to seeing how both Haas and Renault get on this year.

Ferrari have gone retro with their 2016 livery, rolling back the years to give it a bit of a mid-1970s Niki Lauda era look.

A liberal splash of the white paint there, with the engine cover, front wing and cockpit getting a makeover.

    Looking finnnnne.

I've just realised that I've got through one hour of testing without mentioning Ferrari. Just the one lap so far for Sebastian Vettel.

Have we all seen the 2016 Ferrari, by the way?

  9. Business as usual for McLaren?published at 08:57 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2016

The McLaren has been out, briefly, and Jenson Button has now taken up an all too familiar position. Out of the car and standing about.

The Toro Rosso of Carlos Sainz, sporting plain blue livery, completes a timed lap with 1:44.385. Just Sainz, Daniel Ricciardo and Lewis Hamilton to complete a proper circuit of the Barcelona track.

“Manor have launched today what amounts to their first new car for two years and they are positively bubbling about it. Technical director John McQuilliam refers to the MRT05 as a ‘dream package’, adding: ‘It is a contender. We really believe that. The design team have focused almost exclusively on it since the middle of last season and it’s just a whole different ball game to any of its predecessors. We haven’t left any performance on the table and right now I can say there’s not a single part of the car we’d have designed differently.’

"Manor benefit from the superb Mercedes engine this year. Can they remove themselves from the back of the grid and battle in the midfield?”

Loving this arty picture from Manor as they go for a movie-poster look to tease testing.

We're still waiting for them to make an appearance on the track.

  16. Good start to the day for McLarenpublished at 08:41 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2016

Here's our first look at the McLaren for 2016. A lot of black going on here. Not one of my favourites but, as long as it performs better than last year it could be luminous pink and covered in polka dots for all McLaren care.

It has already been a great start to the year, as Jenson Button completes an install lap without breaking down. Happy days.

“One of the big talking points ahead of the new season is whether the shift in momentum between the two Mercedes drivers towards Nico Rosberg in the last few races of 2015 will carry over into 2016. Lewis Hamilton seems unconcerned. ‘I'm not really too fussed about what happened in the final few races of 2015 as it didn't affect my championship,’ he says in a Mercedes team statement.

"‘Of course, I love winning and that's always the goal - but to be honest my attention was elsewhere at that point. It had been such a successful season and you can't win them all, so that was my feeling at the end of the year. If anything, it motivated me. It made me think "OK, next year Nico is going to be super-quick and super-strong, so I've got to make sure I raise the bar again." That's the big question - how do you do that? I've achieved it in each of the last two years - but to do it again for a third time will be tough, no doubt. That's the unknown - but I've been in the simulator recently and thankfully I can still drive, so that's a start!’”
