Problems for Sebastian Vettel, and this time it is not spilled water.

He pulls the Ferrari off the track, stops the car and climbs out.

    Reliability problems?

How's Stoffel Vandoorne's pace holding up against his more experienced team-mate Jenson Button's?

Button has just done a 1:39.3 while Vandoorne's latest lap is a 39.0. Vandoorne's tyres are a little fresher though.

"I am looking at the super softs that have just come off Sebastian Vettel's car and the fronts in particular do not look very good, very worn."

Sebastian Vettel goes in on the end of a 14-lap run on the super softs. His Ferrari team-mate Kimi Raikkonen has been the busiest driver on the track in this session, having racked up 25 laps.

We are seeing a lot of drop off in the super soft tyres, Nico Rosberg's laps went down by seven tenths, then five tenths and another five tenths in successive laps so it doesn't look like these super softs will last that long at the start of the race.

Put Formula 1 alongside football, fireworks and the dent on my car door that looks immeasurably better at night. Stunning.

Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel are well into their long runs, 10 laps to the good on the used set of super softs.

When Jenson Button does leave F1 - and hopefully that's not going to be any time soon - I'll miss his sense of humour.

After he was told he was P3 over the radio, he responded with: "I found the go faster button! I found it!"

Several other drivers follow Nico Rosberg by heading out on a used set of super softs to begin their race sims, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and Felipe Massa among them.

No super soft runs from Marcus Ericsson, Felipe Nasr, Rio Haryanto or Pascal Wehrlein as yet.

"They are going out to simulate the first stint of the race - to see how far these supersofts will go."

A cautious first run on the super softs for Stoffel Vandoorne. He goes 10th fastest, seventh tenths of a second down on fellow McLaren driver Jenson Button's time.

Meanwhile, Nico Rosberg is getting ready for another run on the super softs.

"For Jenson to be P3 in the McLaren-Honda with so many others on the super softs - that is a great performance from the former world champion."

Here's something you don't get to say often - McLaren are currently the best of the rest.

Jenson Button's flyer on the supersofts is a 1:32.281, putting him third fastest. It's nothing to worry Mercedes, with Nico Rosberg 1.2s down the road, but encouraging for McLaren.
