Nico Hulkenberg, currently fifth quickest, has a huge lock up at Turn 4. He's on super-softs. Force India have stuck with that compound throughout the session.

Just a couple of minutes of the session remaining.

"I need to get out of the traffic," complains Kimi Raikkonen. He pits before heading back out into clear air.

Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg fourth and fifth for Force India but they have been running super-softs in this session. Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa are sixth and ninth but are really only a shade slower than the Force Indias and they are on the softs. It looks like Williams have the advantage here.

Tom Clarkson has just grabbed a word with Juan Pablo Montoya and has asked him for his thoughts on suggestions that Nico Rosberg would be seen by some as an "unworthy" world champion.

"He is beating Lewis, what is unworthy about that?" says Montoya.

    Can't argue with that.

Daniel Ricciardo pits and the Red Bull mechanics swoop in to remove the rear tyres and blast the brakes with some cold air. Overheating issues?

Have aliens commandeered the F1 team radios? Every time we get the chance to listen in on what drivers have to say, it ends up sounding like those aliens from Mars Attacks.

    Technical gremlins at play somewhere.

Daniil Kvyat spins at Turn One. Pushing a bit too hard? He's dropped down to eighth after a brief spell in third, with several other drivers having posted improvements. One of those is Sebastian Vettel, who is up to third after a 1:21.407.

Former Williams and McLaren driver Juan Pablo Montoya is playing it cool at the back of the Williams garage.

He gets a hefty, but friendly, thump on the shoulder by a Williams mechanic. Montoya doesn't look as though he recognises him. Awkward.

And now the Force Indias muscle in between the Mercedes as Sergio Perez does a 1:21.347 to go second quickest, while Nico Hulkenberg is third quickest having done a lap two-tenths slower than his team-mate. They've both got the quicker super-softs on, though.

Hello. Daniil Kvyat has just popped up on my timing screen in third place, having done a 1:22.215 on the softs. Pressure off the Russian knowing his future is secured?

Better from Kimi Raikkonen as he goes seventh quickest with 1:22.930. Home favourite Sergio Perez is fifth quickest but has done his best lap on super-softs.
