No action to be taken after that incident involving Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll.

That leaves Perez to focus on racing and race he does as he picks off Felipe Massa and Daniil Kvyat on successive corners to move into eighth. Brilliant stuff by the Force India driver!

Max Verstappen is on one as soon as the safety car goes in! He sweeps around the outside of Kimi Raikkonen and is up into third. Love him.

"What happened with me engine!?" screams Raikkonen. Power problems for the Ferrari?

Lewis Hamilton has really pulled a blinder there managing to keep his first place position behind the safety car. He is weaving left and right, left and right trying to get heat in those soft tyres.

Fernando Alonso is told to remember to have a drink of water. "I have concentration enough to keep the car on the track," he snaps.

I wouldn't like to get into a round with Fernando Alonso. He drinks when he wants.

Big cheers from the grandstand in front of where Antonio Giovinazzi crashed as he manages to climb out of the Sauber and leap over the pitwall.

What a chaotic start to this race!

Everyone has pitted. Race leader Lewis Hamilton has switched to softs.

Getting the front tyres to maintain heat on this track is going to be really hard and at the snails pace of the safety car might cause a few issues for all the teams.

Oh no! Antonio Giovinazzi has crashed!

He's smacked into the pit wall. He's OK, but continues a shocker of a weekend for the rookie after he crashed in qualifying.

    Safety car is deployed.

Sebastian Vettel pits - the only one of the front runners to do so - and goes for softs, as almost all of those behind him have done as well.

Risky move? Nico Hulkenberg has spun and reports a lack of grip on those softs.

Yep, Sergio Perez tagged the right rear of Lance Stroll's car, sending him spinning. The Williams is out of the race.

There's a flurry of stops to ditch those inters. Nico Hulkenberg pits for softs. Going to the end?

It's not surprising in these conditions to see a car flying off the track like that - it looks like Stroll got a tap but we will keep an eye out for a replay.

It's a shame as he worked hard to get himself into final qualifying.
