    Neeeyyyooom.

That's a text-based description of something going very fast. That something is Sebastian Vettel. He does a 1:19.314 on super-softs to improve his benchmark time.

Actually, there's two somethings going very fast because Esteban Ocon vaults up to P2 after a 1:20.161. That's with ultra-softs on his Force India.

Vettel's on super-softs this time, by the way.

After disappearing into the pits briefly, Sebastian Vettel is back out again.

Scream if you want to go faster...

Right, let's try another on the hour teaser. Again, it is another Formula 1 world champion. Again, you'll probably get it in 30 seconds.

I won 20 races in my career.

I made my debut at the United States Grand Prix but had to wait until my 96th grand prix for my first win.

    I am also a talented uni-cyclist.

Gary: I'm getting excited about these times from Ferrari, happy days! Forza Ferrari!

Spanners Ready: Suspect @MercedesAMGF1 won't show pace this week. They've nothing to prove. They'll just turn up at Q3 AUS with a heartbreaking time.

Sebastian Vettel just casually does another 1:19.3 on the softs. Ferrari looking good today, will Mercedes respond?

Meanwhile, there's another improvement for Stoffel Vandoorne as he does a 1:21.671 on the ultra-softs. That's McLaren's fastest lap in testing so far.

    Things looking up?

A 19.3 on softs? Now that is a quick lap. All but certainly the de facto quickest of the winter. Valtteri Bottas set a 1:19.3 on Wednesday but that was on the super and utlra-softs, and tyre-corrected to a soft it was a 19.8/9.

    Game on.

Come on, Mercedes. Stop teasing us. Let’s see at least a bit of what you’ve got.

It's proving to be a bit of a renaissance day for some teams that have had a bit of bother in recent days.

Stoffel Vandoorne does a 1:22.009 - a personal best in testing so far - in his McLaren on supersofts.

New name at the top Klaxon!

Sebastian Vettel was obviously a bit miffed at being bumped down to third as slams down the fastest lap of the day so far.

He does a 1:19.341 on soft tyres - the fastest time by anyone on that compound this week. Vettel was the quickest on softs on Monday when he did 1:19.906.

  13. What's ahead for Force India?published at 10:31 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2017

Force India have had a low-key winter and it was beginning to look as if the team that did brilliantly to finish fourth last year might be struggling for pace in 2017.

Their times have not been especially quick, either on the time sheets or when you fiddle with the numbers for run length and tyre compound and so on. And, lo and behold, after driving on Wednesday, Sergio Perez admitted: “Today the team has found a lot of the weaknesses that we have with the car, which is quite critical.” He added that it should be “quite easy” to sort the issues and that after team-mate Esteban Ocon finished work on Thursday and Perez himself on Friday, they would have “a lot of idea on where we stand”.

The Mexican insisted he was “optimistic” for the season, saying: “The team is pushing very hard to try to get some upgrades for Australia. Especially those upgrades which are probably easy to fix, but it just takes time. So hopefully we can fix most of them for Melbourne and, if not, by second or third race we should be already in a good level.”

Big improvement by Esteban Ocon. The Force India driver produces a 1:21.194 on softs to move up to third, ahead of Sebastian Vettel and within half a second of Lewis Hamilton's time.

Not a single person got that teaser (10:01 GMT) wrong.

The answer is indeed Sir Jackie Stewart. Tim Finch was the quickest off the mark. Well played.

You lot are too good so I'll try to make things tougher for the next one at 11:00 GMT.

Stoffel does indeed improve. It's a 1:22.055 for the 24-year-old and that takes him up to fourth.
