Kimi Raikkonen is back out on track, while his ex-teammate has had a little spin exiting the final chicane. Something we've been quite familiar with towards the end of last season...

Mercedes will have both Valtteri Bottas, and Lewis Hamilton testing today, and Renault have also chosen to have both of their drivers out today: Nico Hulkenberg and Daniel Ricciardo.

Chris says: "The stoppage also forced the Red Bull to abort its first attempt to hit the track as Verstappen was held in the pit lane."

  5. Climate change and all that - no snow this year, just sunshinepublished at 08:54 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2019

Testing only officially got underway at 09:00 local time but there was already plenty of activity in the pit lane before that, with Haas and Alfa Romeo presenting their 2019 cars this morning. That essentially involves a roll-out in front of the team's garage, where photographers and journalists crowd around the car, take some photos and then walk en masse to the next garage.

It’s cold in the shadow of the main grandstand at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya - McLaren getting the bonus of the only sunshine for now due to their position at the end of the pit lane - but the weather forecast is good for the full week, a welcome change from the snow that disrupted the first test last year.

And we're back on. The Alfa is picked up by the truck and is back in the garage.

Can we call it an Alfa?

  7. Raikkonen brings out the red flagpublished at 08:45 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2019

He's in the gravel at turn five. No damage to himself or the new Sauber though.

Just a reminder Kimi, you're not in a Ferrari now.

Carlos Sainz is first on the track in his new MCL34. His "new girlfriend" he told us on Valentine's day at the McLaren launch. But not for long as Kimi Raikkonen brings out the red flag...

Happy new year, Formula 1 fans. It's felt like a long time since Abu Dhabi in November. Yes, we've all missed it. But it's that time again where the 10 teams test their new vehicles for the year and show off their new colours - or largely the same colours as last year.
