  1. Five-second penalty for Albonpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 8 September 2019

    Lap 18/53

Red Bull's Alexander Albon now gets a five-second penalty for a move he attempted on Kevin Magnussen a few laps ago. Albon attempted a move on Magnussen, moved off the track and gained an unfair advantage in doing so.

Charles Leclerc, amid all the madness, still leads, having held off Lewis Hamilton's challenge at the start.

I would say giving Vettel a grid penalty for the next race in Singapore would be a more appropriate punishment. That will hurt him more.

  4. Radio message - Leclercpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 8 September 2019

"Charles, at the moment we are thinking Plan B."

    Well, that's an understatement.

Vettel has dropped the ball and it's really affected Leclerc as well.

Right now Toto Wolff and the Mercedes pitwall will be rubbing their hands.

They have so many different strategies they can pull now as it's basically two drivers against one.

  6. Stroll gets drive-through penaltypublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 8 September 2019

Lance Stroll has also been penalised for his part in the chaos that Sebastian Vettel caused. The Canadian is given a drive-through penalty for sending Pierre Gasly off the track as he attempted to rejoin.

Vettel has now served his penalty, and is right at the back, in 20th place.

That's not enough for me. His race is ruined already - that's irrelevant.

  10. Vettel gets 10-second stop-go penaltypublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 8 September 2019

Given for failing to rejoin the track safely, following that ludicrous incident that sent Stroll careering off. I don't think Vettel has a single ground for complaint about that.

    This is amateur from Vettel.

Jack Nicholls says: The whole front wing has gone; that looked like an absolute moment of madness for Sebastian Vettel.

Vettel is off at Ascari and pulls back onto the circuit in front of the Racing Point! Absolutely stupid driving from Sebastian Vettel there to pull back onto a high-speed circuit.

  19. Postpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 8 September 2019

The stewards are looking at that incident, to assess if Vettel rejoined the track in an unsafe manner.

  20. Postpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 8 September 2019

    Lap 7/53

Vettel spins off into the grass at the Ascari chicane! He has huge damage to his front wing! Stroll spun off too - and almost hit Gasly as he tried to rejoin the track!

The German spun off his own. Rejoining the track, he then clipped the back wheel of Stroll. Absolute chaos. Poor from Vettel, who has to come in to the pits for repairs.
