Chris of Ballard: Like it or not, this is why he's one of, if not THE GOAT.
Myles: Turns out, you don’t need the fastest car to win...
RegularJon: Seven-time world champ not going to let the young pretender past him without a proper fight! Great race. Lewis did brilliantly on those tyres. Get in there!
Ash Wilkinson: What a spectacular race. Brilliant racing in the midfield and a proper battle for the lead - sign me up for another 22 of those this season! Unbelievable defensive driving from Hamilton on those tyres. Max v Sir Lewis is ON for 2021!
A great start to the season for McLaren - fourth (Norris) and seventh (Ricciardo), while a decent block to build on for Ferrari - sixth (Leclerc) and Sainz (eighth).
Sergio Perez shows just why he has the Red Bull drive as he fights back from a pitlane start after his car failed on the formation lap to grab fifth.
What a start to the F1 career of Yuki Tsunoda too. He made some brilliantly daring moves and gets two points for a ninth-place finish on his F1 debut. Well played, sir.
Valtteri Bottas takes third and also gets a bonus point for the fastest lap, which he set on the very last lap of the race.

Short Horizon: Best part of the race taken away from us because of track limits...apparently only important some of the time.
Kristine Kirby: Never, ever, EVER count Lewis Hamilton out. Do so at your peril. What a race! Heart in my mouth stuff!
Macaroni pie: Kinda serves Red Bull right as they complained about Hamilton going wide earlier, they sent a message to race control. Hamilton got told to stay on track. Verstappen went off, race control advised Red Bull to give up the place. Double Dutched.

Race control are not the stewards. This is [race director] Michael Masi putting his foot down and saying you need to give that back. New season, new start for Masi? Saying he is in control of this and this is not the show.

Thomas Curryer: Somehow Hamilton has won the race in what appears to be the slower car! If this is a sign of the season ahead then this will be an epic season.
MJR: The Best. Ever.
Nathan Marzan: If this is what we can expect from F1 for the rest of the year. Wow...just wow.

Hamilton is going to put that to bed this year [that he only has the fastest car]. He did not have the fastest car this weekend. Here Verstappen had the best car but Hamilton made it work.
That is a quick decision from race control to say give it back. Something I've not seen before.
"Yes!! Amazing job guys. I'm so grateful. Everybody back in the factory, working so hard. I know we weren't quick enough but we managed to do it. Team work!"
Red Bull tell Max Verstappen that race control had told them they had to give the place back after going wide to overtake Hamilton.

Red Bull had faith Verstappen would pass him again. The way he came up behind Hamilton near the end, they thought he could do it again but Hamilton somehow found something in reserve.
You cannot give Lewis Hamilton a second chance to win a race.
Hamilton: "Definitely outside the track?"
Red Bull to Verstappen: "Let Lewis through. Let Lewis through."

What a remarkable grand prix!

That decision may well come back to haunt Verstappen.
An absolute thriller!
Lewis Hamilton one, Max Verstappen two, Valtteri Bottas three. No surprise to see that as the top three, but what a brilliant race that was.
Verstappen had the lead, but gave the place back after going off the track in the overtaking move.
The Dutchman then couldn't get ahead again and Hamilton, the seven-time world champion, takes his 96th win of his career.
He could get to 100 at Monaco if he keeps winning.
This is it.
Can Lewis hold on?
