    It's the Red Bulls swapping places at the front of the pack as the rest of the grid continue to rubber in the hard tyres. Max Verstappen, winner of the United States Grand Prix, is rapid once again with a 1:22.291.

    A few young pups were eager to get out onto the track early but now the big dogs have emerged from the pits and are ready to play. Max Verstappen, on the hard tyres, has clocked the quickest time so far with a 1:22.779.

    But Sergio Perez, with home advantage in his engine, is up on his Dutch team-mate and takes top spot away from the world champion with a time 0.077secs faster. Hard rubber also for Checo.

    Pirelli has nominated the compounds in the middle of the range, just like the United States Grand Prix, for this weekend's outing around the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

    Teams can choose from the C2 (hard, white), C3 (medium, yellow) or C4 (soft, red). A reminder that the prototype tyres that will be run in FP2 don’t carry coloured markings on the sidewalls.
