Jeremiah: Aston Martin and Alonso, a great package. As Alonso says, a good car to drive and he is just enjoying it. Good start for him with a podium finish.

Nathan Marzan: This is embarrassing for Mercedes now. Gone from 3rd fastest and ending 2nd fastest in 2022, but now falling down to 4th behind a team they provide engines, gearboxes and suspensions to

Extra! Extra! Alonso loves his new team's car!

The Aston Martin is under no pressure from Carlos Sainz in the Ferrari, so just a few more laps and he can shower that car with champagne from the podium.

  14. 'It is demoralising' for Leclercpublished at 16:30 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2023

    Sam Bird
Formula E driver on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is tough when you see your main title protagonist disappear into the distance in front of you and there is nothing you can do about it. Charles Leclerc's skill set is very similar to Max Verstappen but Verstappen can just disappear into the distance. It is demoralising. When the car lets you down when you are doing the best you can it just darkens the mood further.

Red Bull suffered a double DNF here in Bahrain 12 months ago but the only double they'll be experiencing in Sakhir this year - if there are no spectacular disasters - is a podium one-two.

    Sam Bird
Formula E driver on BBC Radio 5 Live

Lewis Hamilton has not had confidence in the package. He has been a bit down with the press, saying he is not sure if they are going in the right direction. A P4 would really cheer him up. I think that is the best he can achieve in this race.

It's the worst feeling when you are running out of tyres. When you are struggling for grip you can't brake well or exit well. It is all so difficult.
