'Great opportunity' for female football
The FA’s Head of Participation, Pete Ackerley: “The girls and women’s section is growing year on year as is women’s and girls football.
“We have got a great opportunity on the back of the Lionesses’ success in Canada last year, and the Women’s Super League, and we are looking now to make sure everyone gets the chance to play on their terms.”
The Adult female category took place yesterday while the U16 girls is still taking place as we speak!

Fighting radicalisation with football
Video content
The Unity of Faiths FC (Tuff FC) were knocked out in the first round but their story epitomises the FA People’s Cup.
The London based club were set up to help youngsters at risk of terrorist radicalisation and their work has resulted in an invite to Washington D.C from President Obama no less.
Tuff FC’s founder, Dr Shamenda Talwar said:
“We have helped 33 children who were exposed to radicalisation and brought them back through football. It is a global problem, we have a successful programme and through football, which is the biggest breaker of any barrier, we can enhance these children who have been confused and put an arm around their shoulder.
“We were contacted directly by Barack Obama, who was inspired by our work.
“He said ‘why don’t you come over, bring the whole team, and we could play football on the lawns for the White House’, if it is good enough for the President, it is good enough for everyone else!”
