Having had the benefit of the replay here back in the office, I'm saying it was the correct call from the referee.
More than 6,000 teams entered
More than 40,000 players registered
178 venues throughout England
Third year of the free five-a-side competition
16 categories this year
Matthew Henry, Sian Roberts and Alan Beck
Having had the benefit of the replay here back in the office, I'm saying it was the correct call from the referee.
Was this a penalty?
The All Star XI goalie is adamant the ball was in his area when he touched it with his hands.
The referee pointed to the spot and Longbridge Lions stuck it away.
Luckily for the referee it had no bearing on the result, with Longbridge winning 3-1.

Inconsistent but promising start from Team Bobbezz.
I like the attitude from Alex. It's not over until the final whistle.
Now then. The FA People's Cup is for everybody. You can wear whatever you like to play.
BUT...
What is going on here?
I reckon, either someone has forgotten his kit or this team have been forced to bring in a player at short notice.
Let us know which if you're reading this!
Good effort from the keeper but Hingham 's Number 8 shows a bit of class with this curl into the top corner!
Good work, Ryan from Dorling's Darlings .
That's you and Harry Kane scoring a hat-trick on the same afternoon.

And early joy also for Rose Hill Rockets and striker Luke Beaton in Dartford...

Good start here for Andy.
The last time his team played together was 16 years ago (!!) when they were all at school.
The FA People's Cup, bringing people together.

Lovely bit of skill from the FSDA player as a drop of the shoulder leaves the CEFC man red faced. That was the game highlight for FSDA though as they were beaten 6-0.
"Everyone's favourite ref" is not a phrase you hear too often but it's all about helping out for the love of the game in the FA People's Cup!
Well done Karim.
Think he's my favourite ref now too.

Incredible game in Stoke for the Under-14 Girls final.
After normal time it finished 5-5 between She Kicks It and Staffordshire Schools County . It went to penalties with Staffordshire holding their nerve to win 3-2.
This is the winning moment...
You don't have to have an established team to take part in the FA People's Cup.
These guys registered independently and have been put together to form Individuals FC .
Here they are warming up and building up some rapport before their first-ever match - which they won!

How are things looking after the early Adult Male matches in Shepherd's Bush, I hear you ask.
KROOF Lives are on top for now in Group One but there's still a long way to go.
In Group Two it's a little closer with three teams - La Fosse Associates , Silky and Astor United - all on three points.
P Crouch's 5 piece are the only team in Group Three with a 100% record and are leading the way, as are Individuals FC in Group Four after a win in their opening game.
Star player stuck in traffic? Lost your keeper?
We love this shameless attempt by Croydon Terriers to fill their People's Cup team with former Crystal Palace professionals.
Not just Andy Johnson - the same message went to Clinton Morrison, Dean Gordon, John Salako, Neil Shipperley, Aki Riihilati and, er, poet/comedian Tim Key.
@RoadtoFAcup - let us know if it worked!

Here's the moment they opened the gates to the Adult Male teams at Birmingham Star City.
Across the country there are 3,693 teams competing in that category alone so it's a pretty busy schedule!
We've still got news of some girls' team winners coming through.
Here are Huddersfield Town Ladies Under-16s, winners in Manchester (not Wembley... yet) this morning.

MK Dons are the Under-16 Men's disability winners in Reading.
This is them celebrating after getting through to the next stage. Captain Rhyan says his team played "outstandingly well".
Well done!
We think this is more of the 'didn't know much about it' variety of save from Josh Lee FC 's goalie in Bury...

It's all over for the day in the Disability category down in Dorset.
Dexter beat AFC Bournemouth 3-1 in the final to take the round one title.
In getting to the final however, Bournemouth have done enough to also reach the next round.
Here are both teams...
Smart save from this keeper in Norwich, but he can't keep out Hingham 's second effort..
While we're waiting for the adult male results to start coming through, who wants to hear a sad story about a goat?
Here's Bilkis FC 's Freddie Garnham to explain their enigmatic team name:
"We started a five-a-side team at university and we’ve just kicked on since and try to play as much as possible.
"This is the first time we have entered a competition and we're looking forward to getting together. Our mate, who grew up in Bangladesh, had a pet goat called Bilkis, who was sadly eaten because they got hungry. So in memory of his pet goat, we have decided to name the team after it.
"So hopefully we make the goat and our friend proud in the FA People's Cup."
Do it for Bilkis, lads. I'm welling up, here...
