Somehow the Giants don't score in a scramble in front of Ben Bowns who makes a couple of wonder saves.

  7. WELCOME TO NOTTINGHAM - IT'S THE GIANTS v DEVILS FOR PLAY-OFF GLORYpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 16 April 2023

Hello from the National Ice Centre in Nottingham and the final game of the Elite League Ice Hockey season.

Belfast Giants face Cardiff Devils for their third straight Playoff Final meeting.

Both sides came through their semi-finals on Saturday. Belfast were comfortable 6-2 winners over nottingham Panthers while Cardiff came back from two down to tie things up against Sheffield, before beating the Steelers in overtime.

Matchups between the two sides this season have been evenly split with both sides having three wins each - the Giants just shade total points having lost the final game in overtime.

Belfast head into this game with the chance of completing a Grand Slam after winning the Challenge Cup in March, followed by the League title on 1 April.

It's only been achieved twice before in the Elite League era by Coventry in 2005 and Nottingham in 2013.

Cardiff are also looking to write their own bit of history in the final. The Devils are aiming to make it four straight Playoffs titles - something no team has achieved in Elite League history.
