  1. Tyrone 0-14 0-05 Downpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

For good measure, the second of the McCann brothers Tiernan kicks another Tyrone point. It could be a long 20 minutes for Down as this game draws towards a conclusion.

  2. Tyrone 0-13 0-05 Downpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

Mark Bradley and Conall McCann float over points from distance to increase Tyrone's lead to eight. Down have hit three bad wides so far in this half so they are not being totally outplayed but Tyrone are in firm control here.

  3. Tyrone snuffing out Down's rare attackspublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

Jerome Johnston has the ball inside Tyrone's 21 but he is just engulfed by three Tyrone defenders and the danger is snuffed out. A good example of Tyrone's famed swarm defence there.

  5. Tyrone 0-11 0-05 Downpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

Peter Turley is yellow carded for a foul on his own 21-metre line and Peter Harte punished the indiscretion with another free. Tyrone looking as though they might run away with this now. Down badly need that goal that Martin McHugh was talking about.

  6. McKernan black carded for Downpublished at 15:08 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

Down suffer what looks to be a huge blow as Kevin McKernan is black carded on 41 minutes. It appears to be for an off-the-ball challenge on Sean Cavanagh. Seems to have been picked up by a linesman. In fairness, McKernan has not made his normal impression in this contest.

  7. Tyrone 0-10 0-05 Downpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

Tyrone now five ahead three minutes into the second half as Sean Cavanagh strokes over a free won by a Peter Harte run and Mark Bradley fires over another.

  8. We're back on at Clonespublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

    Tyrone 0-08 0-05 Down

The action resumes at Tiernach's Park and David Mulgrew slots an immediate Tyrone score. Had a possible sight of a goal there but opted to tap over from 20 metres.

The defence is still doing relatively well and holding Down at bay. Tyrone are lacking a bit of fluidity but they do have a brilliant bench and we'll see Mickey Harte use that.

Mickey Harte will be absolutely furious with his team over the amount of silly mistakes they are making. They have aimlessly kicked the ball away on several occasions and taken wrong options.

Ronan McNamee is doing a tremendous job on Connaire Harrison but Down are well in this game.

  15. Tyrone's McGeary black cardedpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

It's all getting a little frantic in first-half injury time as Tyrone's Kieran McGeary is black carded for a pull down on Jerome Johnston. Looked clumsy more than anything so perhaps a little harsh.

  16. Down waste glorious goal chancepublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

    Tyrone 0-06 0-05 Down

Oh my goodness, Darragh O'Hanlon has blazed wide a glorious goal chance for Down. The chance came after an O'Hanlon shot came back off an upright. Jerome Johnston's little inside pass then found a charging O'Hanlon but he blazes with with only Niall Morgan to beat. The Tyrone keeper gives O'Hanlon an earful as well after his miss. Unnecessary stuff.

From a Tyrone point of view I'd be disappointed in terms of our attack. They were never going to be at the same standard as the Donegal game but some of the shots have been poor.

  18. Tyrone 0-06 0-05 Downpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

But Down are not wilting here despite Tyrone looking clearly the better side. Conor Maginn floats over a magnificent score with his left peg. The minimum between the sides now.

Down's tactic of just kicking high balls into Connaire Harrison is just not working. I keep saying it but Down have got to get Kevin McKernan on the ball more.

  20. Tyrone 0-06 0-04 Downpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

Darragh O'Hanlon cuts Tyrone's lead with a free on the 21-metre line. Down will be happy enough that they are only two behind at this stage. Tyrone are looking the slicker team but the Mourne men are still very much in touch.
