The final whistle sounds at Croke Park and Dublin are into the semi-finals for the fourth time in five seasons. They will face Ulster champions Tyrone in the semi-finals on 27 August.

Dean Rock has scored a goal early in the second half for All-Ireland holders Dublin and they are cruising towards a semi-final meeting against Tyrone.

Tyrone boss Mickey Harte says his team still have plenty to work on - despite hammering Armagh 3-17 to 0-8 in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.

Monaghan trail by eight points to the holders at half-time, so it looks very much like the Dubs will play Tyrone in the semi-final on 27 August.

The second quarter-final looks like being another one-sided affair as the holders establish a six-point advantage inside the opening 22 minutes.

Tyrone have not really been tested yet. No team has come within eight points of them in the Championship.

But they will have to up their game and the finishing needs to be sharper.

They didn't hit top gear today and the question is 'can they do it against the top-tier teams?' That remains unanswered.

Sean Cavanagh scores from play and keeper Niall Morgan lands a free in stoppage-time to complete an 18-point thrashing of their Ulster neighbours.

Points by Darren McCurry and Peter Harte stretch the huge difference between the sides to 17 points before Paul Hughes replies for Armagh. Four additional minutes are announced.

Young Mulgrew races through to score his second goal in the 63rd minute. This is officially a hammering now.

To make matters even worse for Armagh, Rory Grugan becomes their third man to get a black card.

Tyrone's Cathal McCarron is sent-off for getting two yellow cards. Won't have any impact on the outcome as the Red Hands lead by 12 with eight minutes left.

It's definitely all over now. David Mulgrew scores Tyrone's second goal in the 55th minute. Mulgrew had been listed in the original team only to be left out of the starting line-up, so maybe he's made his point. The Monaghan boys are here, fully aware nearly everyone outside their own county expects their Championship challenge to end at Croke Park today.

Gavin McParland scores from play but Armagh lose half-back Shields who is black-carded for hauling down Peter Harte from behind. Sean Cavanagh lands the resulting free.

Ciaran O'Hanlon's afternoon is also over as he is replaced by sub Oisin O'Neill in the Armagh side.
