And so, another championship campaign's in the books.
Kerry's year started back on 5 January. On a bitterly cold winter's night in Tralee, they annihilated Limerick 2-23 to 0-6 in their McGrath Cup opener.
They haven't looked back since, scooping the National League and Munster titles in impressive fashion to set them up for another crack at Sam.
And while their quarter-final win over Mayo set few pulses facing, claiming a massive scalp over regular tormentors Dublin in the semi-final gave Jack O'Connor's side the boost they needed to go on and get the job done.
But today's final was far from a cakewalk. Galway, who toppled Derry and Armagh to reach their first decider since 2001, battled hard, with exceptional performances from Shane Walsh and Cillian McDaid keeping their dream alive.
But in the end, Kerry just had too much in the tank. Too much scoring power. Too much fitness. Too much desire to end their famine.

Jack O'Connor was ruthless at half-time to take off big players - he'll go down as one of the all-time greatest Kerry managers along with Mick O'Dwyer. Kerry got to grips with with Galway's midfield in the second half. Galway will be disapppointed that they were not further ahead at half-time and some of their big players didn't turn up on the day.

A couple of Davids - Moran and Clifford - said a few words to RTE in the immediate aftermath.
"It was a real panel effort," said Moran. "We've trained very hard all year and we've backed our fitness. As the game on we got stronger.
"It's very hard to put into words," said Clifford.
"It's something I've dreamt of all my life. I was always very confident even though last year didn't work out for us."

It's unbelievable - for many counties not winning it since 2014 is not a long time but for Kerry it was a long time coming. They had to dig deep in the second half and it's a huge day for Kerry.
