Tyrone really need to break this Monaghan momentum because it is eating into their lead.

Monaghan are properly putting the squeeze on here as they continue their strong start to the season by reducing Tyrone's lead to two points.

This has been the most uncomfortable period of the game for the Red Hands. They could do with a score.

Wow, that's a big miss from Rory Beggan as the Monaghan fires a 45 wide.

He'd have expected to do better with that.

Stephen O'Hanlon gets a yellow card for a high tackle.

Within a minute, though, he sets up a goalscoring chance for Conor McManus but his shot is blocked well.

Monaghan's Darren Hughes is forced off injured and is replaced by brother Kieran.

Monaghan are probing here and get the first point of the second half as Kieran Duffy cuts inside and fires over.

That looked like a strong Monaghan penalty shout just after half-time as Karl Gallagher appeared to be pulled back in the large square as he tried to field a long ball but referee Niall Cullen thought otherwise.

Ouch!

That looked like a sore one as Conn Kilpatrick and Karl Gallagher collide, with both men needing treatment before getting up to carry on.

Tyrone arrive back out on the pitch for the second half a minute or two after Monaghan.

Can the Farneymen get back into this game?

Monaghan need more legs in the forward line. They need to up their energy levels, you just want a bit more from them all over the pitch. Tyrone are in control because they are winning the kick-outs - and they are winning them easily.

Tyrone did have the benefit of a strong enough wind advantage in that first half but their five-point interval lead still looks a very healthy position.

Canavan's movement and finishing has been key to Tyrone's superiority and it's only Conor McManus' frees that are keeping Monaghan in any kind of touch.

But Monaghan are going to need a lot more than McManus frees to get back into this game.
