Cavan are playing a dangerous game giving Turbitt and Murnin so much room inside.

Clarke and Faulkner are good man-markers, but Turbitt had as much time as he wanted to land his second point there.

Might be time to build a blue wall.

  20. 'Wet and wild in Cavan'published at 18:20 British Summer Time 22 April 2023

    Cavan v Armagh (18:30)

What as miserable evening in Cavan. Having trained for months with one eye on this fixture, the wet conditions could turn this into a lottery.

Both teams will start as selected. That means ring-rusty duo Dara McVeety and Oisin Kiernan are thrown in from the start for Cavan after being lightly raced in the league. McVeety was brilliant for Cavan before going to Australia for a few years and will be interesting to see if he can hit the grounds running.

Andrew Murnin was badly missed by Armagh in their preliminary round win over Antrim. Cavan might want to play Killian Clarke further out the field but he may have to help Padraig Faulkner tie down the twin threats of Murnin and Conor Turbitt. Rian O'neill is on the bench. How long before we see him?
