The Twins are back on the grid after their warm-up lap.

A few adjustments are taking place after the wind has swapped a full 180 degrees from Thursday. There's now a headwind heading towards University.

Philip McCallen is reporting there's a damp area at University after mud had to be washed off the circuit in that area. It's drying, but it is a touch damp.

The Supertwins are on the grid and we're getting build-up from the front row.

Richard Cooper (1st): "We all know races are never a foregone conclusion. We have unfinished business. I think there will be a fight and the guys know what I have underneath me and they will be doing their best to make me work for it."

Jeremy McWilliams (2nd): "We should be there or there abouts. This is exactly what we want. The wind has completely changed which throws in a bit of a curveball. This one lap is a bit of a check for the gearing but it's the same for everyone and I could see people changing when we get back around."

Paul Jordan (3rd): I'm not feeling too bad. Looking forward to this and seeing how we get on. We want to do well and you have to expect to have nerves. I want to be on that podium and that's what I aim to be fighting for."

  10. Super Cooper?published at 10:27 British Summer Time 13 May 2023

    Richard Petrie
    BBC Sport NI at NW200

Richard Cooper suffered disappointment 12 months ago when he crossed the line first in both Supertwins races but the Kawasaki he was riding was eliminated from the results for a technical infringement.

The Nottingham rider can go some way to make amends for that this time out as he occupies pole position for today's Twin races.

The 40-year-old was to ride a Yamaha prepared by Michael Rutter and his Batham's Racing team but after that deal fell through, he finds himself aboard a Ryan Farquhar-prepared Kawasaki.

Cooper will have one rival less to worry about in this opening Twins race as Michael Dunlop has opted to sit out this one.

Regulations state riders can only compete in five races on any given day so the Ballymoney rider's McAdoo Kawasaki will be parked up until race two later in the day.

The forecast looks very promising for the Triangle circuit.

One less thing for the organisers to worry about...
