    FT: Limerick 2-24 Galway 1-18

Doing all I can not to describe that as a game of two halves but...

Limerick really did turn it on after the break as they came from a point down at half time to end up with a comfortable nine-point victory.

Two-goal Aaron Gillane was their best performer as they continue their bid for a fourth All-Ireland title in a row.

You can read our match report here and we will have reaction and highlights to follow online.

And we are not finished there, of course, as we are back to do it all over again tomorrow with live TV and text commentary coverage of the second semi-final between Kilkenny and Clare.

    See you then.

  2. 'Limerick showed patience and calmness' - Kielypublished at 20:01 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    FT: Limerick 2-24 Galway 1-18

Limerick manager John Kiely, speaking to BBC Sport NI: "We had to show great patience and calmness. Galway got off to a flyer and had us in a bit of bother with their puck-out. They were getting a lot of joy and possession off it. They were creating good scoring opportunities off that.

"We had to adjust and trust the players to get it right and they did, I think experience shone through, we were able to get the positioning right and push on from there."

On reaching a fourth final in a row: "All we've ever wanted was to give ourselves opportunities. We've worked hard all season and we have two weeks to work hard and to put our best foot forward and hopefully it'll be good enough."

  4. 'We don't really talk about four-in-a-row'published at 19:45 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    FT: Limerick 2-24 Galway 1-18

Man of the match Aaron Gillane, speaking to BBC Sport NI: "It was good in bits and pieces, we started slowly enough and Galway were very good in the first half.

"We got to grips with it and half-time came at a good time. Once we kicked into gear, we got over the line and we're looking at another All-Ireland final."

On four-in-a-row: "It's not something we talk about really. Whether it's four in a row or you're first, it's still massive. We'll go out and train hard for two weeks and give it our best shot."

The Galway forwards seemed to lose all their energy. Limerick were building from the back. It's very disappointing from a Galway perspective in the second half.
