    Men's pole vault

A full two-and-a-half hours after the pole vault final started, and favourite Renaud Lavillenie has his first jump. He must have been off watching a film or something.

    Anyway, he sails over 5.75m.

The medal is a long way away from being decided...

    Women's 400m

Shaunae Miller really gave it the full works. She has barely moved since the end of that race. Finished. Nothing in the tank.

    Women's 400m

    Michael Johnson
Four-time Olympic gold medallist athlete on BBC One

It was a fantastic race, that was an amazing effort from a world class athlete.

Allyson Felix will be very disappointed because all she needed was one more metre to really make that happen.

    Women's 400m

With 50m to go Shaunae Miller had it in the bag, easy. But she was tying up, and Allyson Felix was flying.

That was so close! Without the dive, I think Felix comes through to win it...

A fabulous final, a fabulous finish. We thought Felix would come through, and with another two metres of track she might have done.

That is giving it absolutely everything for a gold in the Olympic Games.

What a run for Shaunae Miller.

That is how to finish a race and become an Olympic champion.

Shaunae Miller set a PB of 49.44 to win that. It was so close, Allyson Felix clocked 49.51.

Bronze went to Shericka Jackson. Same medallists as last year's worlds. Just the top two switched around.

    Women's 400m final

It looks like a three-horse race on paper.

Allyson Felix, Shaunae Miller and Shericka Jackson. They finished in that order at last year's worlds. They all ran under 50 seconds in that race in Beijing.
