    Men's 5,000m final

A huge cheer for Mo Farah, plenty of British fans in Rio of course. Andrew Butchart also runs for GB tonight.

Muktar Edris and Dejen Gebremeskel are the second and third fastest men over this distance this year. The two Ethiopians could be Mo's biggest rivals.

Huge cheers in the arena as Maicon Siqueira leaps around before diving into the crowd. He then raises a Brazilian flag above his head before embarking on another lap, photographers frantically trying to keep up with him.

Maicon Siqueira gets in a back flick and it is enough to propel the Brazilian into a 5-4 lead and take the bronze medal. Mahama Cho bends his knees. Dejected. He gave everything but it wasn't to be.

Nipped into the BBC office. You know GB have had a good Games when extra paper has to be added at the bottom.

Farah goes for goldpublished at 01:23 British Summer Time 21 August 2016

    Men's 5,000m final (01:30 BST)

It has been six nights since Mo Farah won gold in the 10,000m.

He's already done one 5k heat - where he fell over. Can he possibly be in top shape tonight?

“It will be harder than London – a lot harder,” he said earlier this week.

“Even in my training there are certain days where I’m supposed to do a session but my body doesn’t allow me to do it, so I have to wait for another day.

“Or I’ll talk to the coaches and say I’m feeling a bit tired and cut my session down a bit. You’ve just got to be smart.”

That was really quick through 600m but Semenya had enough left to win the title convincingly. Semenya was so strong. I do think she's capable of breaking the world record. She definitely has it in her.

    Men's 1500m final

A great race with a tight finish, but USA's Matt Centrowitz manages to hold off his rivals to take a surprise gold.

2012 champion Taoufik Makhloufi of Algeria has to settle for silver and New Zealand's Nick Willis, bronze

An admirable effort from GB's Charlie Grice who really gave his all, but faded in the end to finish 12th.
